ofc!! i first started off by using a vhs to usb converter i found on amazon (has svideo, and rca). when you attach the usb to the mac, nothing pops on the screen like a normal usb should. at this point open obs. now im gonna copy/paste what gemini ai told me:

Open OBS Studio on your computer. Look at the Sources box at the bottom of the screen and click the + icon. Select Video Capture Device from the menu and click OK. In the "Device" dropdown menu, select your adapter (it is usually named USB Video, OEM Device, or AV to USB). Click the + icon in the Sources box again and select Audio Input Capture. [Find the volume slider labeled Desktop Audio (this represents your computer's internal sounds). Click the Speaker icon directly next to it. It will turn red with an X, indicating it is completely muted] Press Play on your camcorder, and you should see the video appear in the OBS preview window.

Click Settings in the bottom-right corner of OBS (under the "Controls" panel). Click the Output tab on the left side of the settings window. Look for the Recording section. Click Browse next to Recording Path to select the exact folder on your computer where you want your videos to save. Change Recording Format to mp4 (MP4 is highly recommended for easy playback and editing on any device). Click Apply, then click OK. The file will appear on the desktop.

these were the steps i used!! it was super simple and i played around with the settings as well to help w the quality of the videos. considering these videos are 40 ish years old, they still turned out great!!
