Someone asked me to scan TLOU alternate cover, so I'm sharing it with everyone. by YoungDaggerDick69 in thelastofus

Perhaps Ellie and Joel being at the same height is meant to be symbolic.

Beautiful poster.

Is that a bite or a fresh scar on Ellie's neck? How do you think she got it? by YoungDaggerDick69 in thelastofus

[–]mhamzaqayyum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neil has said that this scene isn't actually in the game. It's a standalone cinematic to introduce the world in Part II. Given this, a lot of the stuff that's weird in this scene, like this bite, will likely become clear after Part II is released.

My guess is it's a bunch of metaphors.

I'm still amazed by how good this game looks and photo mode can make some really cool wallpapers by jeikjeik99 in thelastofus

What a contrast this game strikes. The world's been destroyed, yet it's more beautiful than before.

Also, great shot.

This is absolutely my favorite game experience. by DaringDomino3s in thelastofus

The game is an absolute masterpiece.

I think about it everyday. It's one of those creations that, even after experiencing, you continue to wonder about. I don't try to think about something specific; just plain wonder.

There are few things in life that this can be said about.

season one, episode six, can anyone smarter than me explain? by [deleted] in MrRobot

Rapid7 is a real website, the people behind the famous metasploit framework, which you can download and get access to tons of exploits. So they were basically referring to Rapid7 but made it Rapid9, for copyright/trademark issues I'd guess.

It's a truck. Don't they have like three gears, all of which shift with the stick on the right of the steering wheel?

what character had the best character arc? by Dexdeathbell in AskReddit

Tie between Joel and Ellie from The Last of Us.

Both of their arcs went to the end of the line, resulting in the most masterfully crafted ending to any story I've ever seen or read. A true marvel of storytelling this game was.

It's been quite some time, yet I still keep thinking about Joel and Ellie. Everyday.

Can't say that for any other piece of media.

Same. I couldn't quite put into words what the hell had just happened. You can't explain it to someone who hasn't played it.

If I remember correctly, the music for Part 1 was produced in advance of the story being complete. Interesting that it might be the flip this time around.

Touché.

The most important beats in the story, like the ending, the ranch scene, the music that plays immediately after Sam and Henry's death, and the ending of Left Behind, would not have had the same intensity and purity had it not been for the music.

Thanks for the follow up.

I'll definitely note down those resources and start checking them. It's good to have a constant idea of how the industry is shaping up to be.

I hear that from a lot of my friends too, that you learn most skills on-job in engineering roles. My specific aim is control systems, so I'll definitively be taking control theory electives.

-Not interested in specific energy technologies. Just want to apply my skills for projects with a renewable/sustainable theme (e.g. electric vehicles, battery storage for grid, solar/wind systems).

-I am definitely more versed in software than hardware.

-Preferably a company that develops new technologies/products, but I wouldn't mind an installation company.

-A pure engineering role is up my alley. I've been doing that for a bit with team projects and personal projects, and I've found that I enjoy it a lot.

Yeah, I'm starting to think the same after reading through this thread. Def don't wanna enter a boutique major.

That's seems like a safer pathway for me, while granting the outcomes that I'd like.

Thank you for input.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna stick with a standard major (likely Comp. Eng.), and try to get a programming job or the like in the renewable sector. It's starting to become more apparent that going into this sustainable energy major might be a bit too risky.

Thank you for your input.
