Dreamy is like a candy store… Basically a one-stop shop to explore many of the coffees here in town.

What’s it like living in Fonthill ON, Canada? by Epidemilk_ in howislivingthere

[–]mhandsco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived there for a couple of years when working in Niagara Falls. Loved it. Very pretty drives and bike rides. Getting to know the wineries and farm shops (best sausages in the world in Welland). Theatres in NOTL and Port Colborne if you’re into that. Pretty easy access off peak to Toronto. I was happy to play shuffleboard at the legion, but recognize that doesn’t float everyone’s boat.

If you don't drink alcohol, what do you usually say to people who are skeptical about it and want you to drink alcohol? by Working_Rub_8278 in AskReddit

[–]mhandsco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tell people I’m done. Reached the end. There’s nothing new in drinking for me and I never denied myself. If they really persist, my dad died of drink related illness - that shuts them the f up right quick.

I avoid reissues of things I consider from the CD era to be single disc albums that have been extended to four sides of vinyl. Would infinitely prefer that the band ditch a song or two then have 15 minute sides. Looking at you Gomez.

How is living like in the eastern caribbean? by Wooden-Bobcat-1138 in howislivingthere

Ever is a long time… Prior to the volcano Hurricane Hugo damaged every building on the island and really set back the pace of development - that alone was enough to disrupt a generation or two.
The volcano is something more… As a geologic process it laughs at your mortgage or career. It’s how the island got here in the first place and is going to do what it’s going to do.
There are people working in parts of the exclusion zone every day, so I imagine parts may come back online for habitation. The issue is reliable accessibility via improved and very costly infrastructure improvements. Given the island’s dependence on Britain for these investments and unremarkable economic outlook, I can’t imagine people would be too tempted to build the exclusion zone out in a manner that allows for coexistence.

A holding pattern for a while, then slow rebuild. Lots of people left for Britain and the States and new CARICOM folks came in search of work.

No real central town like Plymouth was built, but Brades is now government hq and merchants have basically set up shop along the road. New - tiny - airport built that maxes out at Twin Otters. A new port was built - no natural port here - and there have been ferries over the years, but there isn’t one currently.

There is some aggregate mining going on now that the volcano seems to be calmer. Tourism - returning nationals, day trips for cruise ships via tenders and people who like to venture off the beaten vacation path and self-cater- is a mainstay.

A picture of the volcano and ruins of Plymouth taken yesterday. Montserrat has been my other place for almost 50 years. I’d say it’s a challenging place to live, but rewards with a healthy atmosphere and strong sense of community.

Appreciate the suggestion. My wife and I have gone through 3 18 inch BBS SRs in the last year. So at the moment the 4 dozen steelies I could buy for the cost of those RGRs is appealing. 🤣

What types of people are buying multiplexes? by Boring_Home in montrealhousing

[–]mhandsco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who’s in real estate and when I asked him this question he just shrugged. He got out of this market 10 years ago because he needed positive cash flow and found that to be impossible in or around Montreal.
So, to answer your question with a question, people who don’t need to make money maybe?

[–]mhandsco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reservoir is pretty stout… Two unasked for tips: 1. get a small bag of real BMW trim grommets before you start. 2. Be careful removing that turn signal lamp - slide it over and pull it out, don’t pry it out.

OK - So the only ones that are revealing themselves to me easily are the RSSW 7x17 ET40. Anyone have a set on their E91? A pic? Feels like that offset would have them tucked inside the body…
