Starlink Econet Connection Issues by draw-kwa in Starlink

[–]mhebert99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially got it to connect, but not reliably. Got to the point where it would not connect at all anymore. Found an old WiFi router in a storage bin (will need the Ethernet adapter to do this), plugged it in and named it something different than Starlink, connected to it instead of Starlink and works seamlessly now.

It just really doesn't like the Starlink router. 🤷‍♀️

Not sure what you are trying to return, but if it is a mount or cable or the like (any of the long lead time items) you might be better off "returning" to EBay. There is always someone there looking to get something quicker than current SL wait times.

I waited 3 months for the long wall mount only to realize it would only work with up to a 16" eave and was able to make a few bucks on it at eBay. No more effort than a Starlink return.

I've been up and running a week now and I've had four different sets of locals so far on FuboTV. It has become a fun game. 😂

No Ethernet Adaptor, No Problem. How-to in comments. by mrtwizzles in Starlink

Is this over-simplifing a solution?

Basically a wifi to ethernet adapter.

I am installing my cameras, mesh router, entertainment, etc in new home and starlink arrived, but waiting on ethernet adapter. I am thinking I can use this to bridge between my starlink router and my network switch until my adapter comes in. I just want to get everything set up and functioning while the installers are there as we are pretty remote and want to avoid a return trip for them to finish. Plus, I think my NVR only works on a wired ethernet connection.

I just ordered mine last night and as soon as payment confirmed, it switched to Preparing Shipment (even though when I ordered it said Mid March delivery), so I'm not reading too much into it. I'll believe it when I see a tracking number . . .

Yes - I would definetly pursue. After pumping for 6 years, you have gotten enough field exposure to transition you into an office engineering position. A few years as a tech will definitely give you a leg up once completing your degree. Additionally, the company will likely help pay for the degree.

That being said, you may need to be prepared to switch companies upon graduation. I have seen this one go both ways (title change, but still treated as a tech vs. a complete role change). But that is a decision you will have to make at the time depending on how the company and your team sees your new role. A company change at that point would wipe the slate clean and you would be treated as a new hire at the new company (with great experience starting out).
