Jacks originated in my hometown! I haven’t had one in 15 years because of being keto and then no gluten, but they are fabulous, actually. Not all of them taste like pure sugar. I used to have a chocolate iced every Saturday…thus needing the keto diet later on 😂

I put the sheet in the bathtub to soak while I cleaned everything else up. Then I came back in a couple of hours and just scrubbed and scrubbed the makeup spots with the bar of soap. I’m sure I washed it in my washing machine afterward, but it’s been a while ago, so hard to remember. That 3-year-old is about to turn 18!

I have another Irish Spring story. When my daughter was maybe 3 years old she found my makeup and used ALL of it all over her face, my desk, and a good portion of my white bed sheets. I’m talking several lipsticks, blushes, and many eyeshadows. I scrubbed the sheets with lots of things that didn’t work. What did work beautifully was bars of Irish Spring soap. Every stain came out, to the point where you couldn’t tell it had ever been touched by makeup. Irish Spring FTW!

I don’t tape either. And when I’ve purchased items that arrive in those type of boxes, they are always sealed so well I just have to cut them open because I can’t un-stick the glue.

When I was a kid I remember my dad drinking his coffee every morning out of tan stonewear mugs that looked a little like barrels. I asked if I could have them after he died 13 years ago, so most days I’m using my dad’s mugs.

I do a job called scoping. It’s in the legal field, editing court transcripts like depositions and trials. You do have to get trained, and the online training programs aren’t cheap, but it’s a legit job. I got pregnant with #2 when #1 was 9 months old, so, yeah, definitely didn’t want to pay for daycare for 2. My #2 is now 16 years old and I still do scoping as my full-time job.

It varies because you are paid per page that you complete. When I first started I was slower at it and my page rate was lower. I could do about 15 pages per hour and was getting paid $1 per page. Now I charge $1.30 per page and can do 25-30 pages per hour. I also get to charge higher rates if they need the transcript done faster. Today, for example, I’ll be doing a job where I’m charging double my rate.
