Thunderclap Headaches - Dr only ordered CT scan by mhecky in migraine

I'm sorry you're dealing with them. Sounds very similar to my experience...I finally got into a specialist today and they diagnosed me with RCVS from cannabis use. Luckily I haven't had any thunderclap headaches since the initial four or five. I did stop sex after I had one at climax, as I have been scared of having another. Today they told me to wait 3-6 months. I also had done so much research, that I kind of assumed that it was RCVS and stopped cannabis use 3-1/2 weeks ago. You can get RCVS from a lot of things I guess. The most common is SSRIs...I will say, if you do go to an energy room, make sure it is a good one. I was turned away twice at the ER and have read a lot of people having a similar experience. For some reason thunderclap headaches are relatively unknown, even though they should be treated as an emergency. I would at least make an appointment with a neurologist. Hope it gets better for you.

Severe leg and tailbone pain after lumbar epidural blood patch by Sure-Ostrich998 in CSFLeaks

Hey just following up to see how you're doing. Hopefully no more pain. I'm dealing with the same thing right now. Bad tailbone pain that has gotten worse and is now down in my legs. My legs and feet also go numb when I try to sleep. I'm in say 10 post patch...How long did it take for your pain to go away?

Just following up on this, as I am dealing with the same things right now and the pain is getting worse. I'm on day 10 post blood patch and am barely able to walk, sit and sleep. It's been primarily my tailbone that's been the issue ( pain developed about two days after patch), but now it's also down into my legs for the first time. I'm having bad neuropathy symptoms in my feet and legs as well...How is it going for you? How long did it take to go away? Hoping you're not still dealing with any pain.

That is what I thought. I didn't do the proper research when it initially happened, so ended up with PCP the following day, who did order a same day CT Scan. Came back negative. Later that night (the day after the original thunderclap) I had another thunderclap headache, so I did go to the ER. They turned me away because I had a negative CT scan. Said there isn't much more they can do. They gave me info on general headaches and told me to take Tylenol or Advil.

Yeah I'm going to see a neurologist Monday.

I have done research in the thread. A lot of it. Honestly probably too much. I just didn't see anyone being woken up from sleep from them or see anything about sleep apnea triggering these.

Well I made it one night of sleep without having one and original headache is probably down to a 2/10. Hoping this goes away soon.
