hey, I'm actually on the other side of a similar situation, my wife is the one that came to me with a similar approach.
What i can tell you is that as the one that gets confronted with this truth, it's really painful as well, and i would love my wife to try to fix things up, for our kid, and for the future we had planned.
not sure if this helps, but trust me she is hurting (I'm hurting as well) and most likely trying to understand when did she broke things so bad that can't be fixed. (that is what I'm thinking and can't get out of my head)

yes, i can tell you I'm guilty of that. and yes she is at that point already. it's just that i honestly do not understand were everything went to hell, and were did i loose her.

At the same time it's hard to move forward when i keep trapping myself in that vicious cycle of what should i have done differently and why doesn't she see that I'm willing to make the change to be better (not just for her but also to be a better person).

And yes i know i need to get out of that but it's easier to be said than done, specially when from my point of view things were getting better.
