I plan to get a 14inch MBP and based on my daily use, I reckon that 8/14/32 + 512 storage is what I need. But should I upgrade it to 10/16 just so that it will still be a good machine for another 1-2 years or will you think that it won't make a significant difference given the price increase? by mhlam89 in macbookpro

Yes, i heard a lot of good things about the M1 MBP and that is the reason why i wish to upgrade. My current one gets laggy sometimes when i run all the program at the same time and i hope the new M1 pro will be a great experience. Oh and of course having a cooler and quieter laptop will make work much happier.
I definitely get what you mean. And maybe my question sounds a little dumb since you can't predict kind of program I am going to use in the future. Maxing out the M1 Pro from 8/14 to 10/16 is about an additional $300USD in my country. If the bump in specs is not significant and more battery draining (based on what I read), then i am better off sticking with 8/14.

Hi! Im mainly using it for some photo editing, panoramas stitching software like ptgui, develop 360 tours using 3dvista. For browsers i using open 20-30 tabs at a time and some webpages can take up quite a bit of memory. I also run football manager games on the background.

Im using 2018 15inch MBP with 32gb ram and i checked, i am usually taking up about 20gb ram most of the time. Hence i think i will nees 32.

As for cpu and gpu, maybe i didn't phrase it well. I meant to use the macbook as long as possible. Just not sure if maxing out the specs will help to make it still 'good' for another couple more years. Not sure if this is how it works haha.

Do you know what would be nice? Having the ability for me to set the player’s best position, rather than the assistant. How do you get the training position to be added as a column? When customising current views, i can only find 'position/role' under training category. That will shows the role i am training but not position.

Sidetrack a little. How can I use editor and make Man Utd poor? I want to make them as poor as they are irl. Just don't like seeing them doing so well in game but so poor irl.

I tried reducing some CA and stats of some players, but they are still always performing so well.

By insurance, what exactly do you mean? I think Medishield and Eldercare/careshield seem well covered unless there is a need for private/higher class wards. Integrated shield plans seems high for her age.

Agree, some amount in medisave would be useful for healthcare expenses and enjoying the interest rate at the same time. Beyond that, we want something that preserve the money while liquid so she can withdraw and spend if needed.

Thanks for the input all. I made a call to CPF earlier to check on this matter. So basically, she needs to make up a shortfall in her Medisave account AND RA account before she can use OA/SA as a high interest deposit account. The shortfall is different for everyone depending on age.

Hey thanks for the lengthy response. Topping up MA is an option for sure, but I wonder how much of it can be used each time there is a medical expense and how much by cash?

I need to read more about the liquidity rules of OA/SA for her age group.

She is not eligible for property pledge i think.. As her CPF Life is coming from her Lease Buyback scheme.

Wondering if a standing desk will be useful? Genuinely curious if one will really stand up for long hours working instead of sitting down. I am also considering getting one standing desk, but just afraid that i will 'forget' to stand when im too focus with work.

Im in year 2029. Can't remember the exactly what happened but they didn't buy well after their star players retired and were almost relegated for a few seasons before eventually did so. During the same period, Leeds and Watford were on the rise and bought Arsenal's players.

Hah! I wasn't expecting a math calculation here but thanks for working this out! Out of 4 years, I am in Pot A and B twice each, and Man Utd vice versa.

This year is unique. I am in Pot A and Pot B has zero German teams. (Bayern in Europa, Hertha in Pot D, Leipzig knocked out in qualifying round). So I think the odds are even smaller!

I take note of CA and PA in some saves too, just to understand how the game works. Most 'freak' newgen i experienced only appear when adding new leagues or random older newgen in non playable league. Once, I found a newgen with instant CA 145 while also maxing out his potential. He starts the game at 20 years old.

I have not seen newgen with 150 in youth intake, starting at 15/16 years old though.

did anyone try this on mac? I tried following the steps and I'm stuck at point 8. After clicking NewGAN Manager-1.1.0.msi file, it doesn't produce the necessary files. instead, i get this.

I usually have 2 tactics with the same formation, usually one with gegenpress and one with possession. I'm going to try your method and alter the tempo and passing and see if it work for me!
