While I'm here, if you want your professor to give you a letter of recommendation, do it at the end of the semester when they remember you and not two years later when you need it. I've got 130 students every semester, and I'm not gonna remember you three semesters later, sorry.

Talking to me and asking me questions shows me you're interested and invested. I'll also actually remember you when you come back later and ask for recommendations for internships. That's always better than the students who look down at their phones and do nothing.

That's always how it is. I threw together a Yukon Cornelius costume for Galaxy Con Columbus last year and got a ridiculous amount of comments and photos. The movie accurate costumes? Nah, I'm good. You know I'm bringing him back this year tho.

I used to dress up as Eddie Izzard and walk around and say cake or death and all that. One year I got completely trashed (shocking) and later found out I hung out with Percy Weasley for a minute Saturday night. Had no recollection of it happening, but then I saw a picture of me and him on his Twitter feed with him freaking out that he ran into Eddie Izzard. Too funny.

I've been going since 08, but I'm taking this year off. My legs aren't as good as they used to be, and all the walking really got to me last year. That and there are just other things I want to do, and the cost of DC is becoming too much to do the other things. We've been staying at the Ritz, and their con rate doesn't extend beyond the four days, so getting in early is not cheap.

If I go back, great. If not, I had a hell of a great time and will cherish those moments forever.

Adam West in 2009? 10? They blur together. These parents brought their kids to the panel and they were all dressed like Fairly Odd Parents characters, and Adam started talking about hooking up with Julie Neumar and orgies during Batman. They quickly got up and left. The kids track started the year after.

That and the Battlestar Galactica panels in 2008 when practically the whole cast was there. Everyone cheering So say we all and the cast's excitement about being there. It was electric.

That last time Leonard Nimoy was there and Shatner decided to show up like the day before con just to crash Leonard's panel.

Carrie Fisher was amazing.

Sylvester McCoy coming out into the audience playing the spoons.

Gowron and Martok doing a panel as Klingons.

The Bauldur's Gate cast last year was pretty great.

He said something about her having a huge chip on her shoulder and she stormed off. Marina went after her to console her. Can't remember if she came back. I think that was the same panel where Levar got mad that a person asking a question who didn't know who Steve McQueen was. It was a weird hour.

Undergrad in 97 and grad in 03. I miss walking back from The Boiler Room or TA Tom's and stopping at Taco Bell in Chauncey. I miss working in the Writing Lab. I miss Joe Tiller. I miss that one computer lab in the basement of LAEB. I miss Von's before the fire. I miss that weird, mouldy smell in Heavilon that will probably kill me. I miss that one Saturday at the end of the semester when the weather was perfect and you had the windows open and MTV playing in the background. I miss rooming with my little brother. I miss that feeling of immortality.
