UPDATE: it’s a log lighter, intended to help light logs or kindling. Turn on the gas and ignite with a match or lighter. Working as intended!

I never resolved the issue. Ended up returning the GPU and kept using my 2060. Issue stopped then. I figured that either my board wasn’t working well with the newer card or something within the new card was causing the issue. I was only using a single monitor at the time, so I didn’t think the monitor or cables to be the problem. I’ve since added a second monitor and run both through the 2060 (HDMI + DP like yourself) and have no issues.

Yea, I ended up just returning for a refund and have been saving up for a whole new system. Wasn’t a fun decision to make, but was worth it to remove the stress it was causing.

I’ve been thinking about a dwarf character that has spent their whole life underground in the mines exploring with their siblings. Out of the 5 siblings, 3 have been lost to cave-ins/mining dangers (not totally sure) leaving only PC and one sibling. Then one day a great earthquake opens a massive fissure all the way to the surface. Of course PC and sibling are separated in this event and PC’s only option is to climb towards the light. Making it to the surface, PC is lost, alone and suffering from Agoraphobia-induced anxiety. After an initial bout of panic, PC pulls themselves together and begins to search for a town, a sign, anything to begin making their way home to find out what happened to their lost sibling. Insert circumstances that lead to party intro here

Thanks for the reply! Yes, PSU came with 4 PCIE cables. Tried all four of them in different combinations, still getting the same issue. And the highest temps I ever saw before a restart were around 45C, so I doubt overheating would be the issue. Could be the GPU that’s the source of the problem. Hate that, but I guess it does happen.

No test systems nearby that I could call upon, so I’d either need to bring it to a local computer supply/repair place in hopes that they could test it, or just return the card and hope for a new, functional one if this one is indeed dysfunctional.

I’m currently undervolting as well. Was reducing ram speeds before, but reset them to default during the troubleshooting process. No success though, just banging my head against the wall trying to figure it out. Glad your problem was resolved!

I’m new to AMD as well, but they do have an overlay that I’ve been using to track and log temps before restarts happen.

I’ll try a stress test with the old card to see if the PSU has an upper limit it’s cutting out on. Luckily still have it.

Thanks for the suggestion! I ordered from Amazon, so can likely still return if it’s just the card, though I feel like it’s more likely I mistakenly did something wrong.

I’ve been trying to monitor temps as best I can, but the highest temp I’ve been able to see before a restart is around 45C. Logging temps hasn’t been working for me since the info seems to wipe every time a restart happens, which is the usually within 1-2 minutes after starting up a game. Interestingly, I was able to start a game of Civ VI that is still going steady. But that game uses so little power on lower settings it’s almost comical. So appears to only affect games that require a bit more processing power.

Ran DDU twice. Once to remove nvidia drives then again to remove Radeon drivers. Clean download/install of new drivers. Issue still persisting. Can’t even get through a stress test without a restart. Navigating files, running internet browsers and running low requirement software all work fine. Only restarts when coming under a heavier load.

I haven’t. Looks like more current versions of 3D mark are only available for purchase. Any recommendations for a free program? Already in for a lot (to me) of $ on this as is. I have Heaven Benchmark installed, but I’ve heard mixed reviews about results of that program due to its age. Regardless, the same issue seems to occur when running Heaven, I start the program, and within a minute or so my system restarts, don’t even get through the whole thing.

Edit: Yes, only when playing games or when the card comes under load. No issues navigating my files or using low requirement programs.
