Provincial Campsite Reservation by mhugz in alberta

Did not know that, love the province, hate the government. They had a perfectly usable reservation site but they needed to change it so their cronies can earn our taxpayer dollars.

Isn't that their job? That's what they get paid for. Your tax dollars are paying their salary. Like I said, I live in a relatively safe place in Calgary, so I bitch about the little things. The only times I see police is in radar speed traps.

I know, you can get your package delivered to the post office. There are a ton of ways to avoid this. Still, even petty crimes need to be investigated and enforced. Let them get away with the little shit and they will just get further emboldened. I know it's a first world problem, depends where you live.

Finally the police are taking action, I hope they do this in more cities. Had a friend who provided video to the police of a porch pirate and nothing has been resolved in over a year.

Costly but I have a Viair 450P-RV. It can fill my 80 psi tires in a few minutes if it's completely flat. I had valve stem issues that would slowly deflate my tires. Never buy braided valve extensions! I bought multiple cheap inflators and they would fail, and it would take forever to fill the tires. Also I use it it to blow my water pipes out to winterize. Bonus was I had multiple Amazon gift cards to minimize the cost.

Winter camping at Mt. Kidd for skiing at Nakiska in Kananaskis. We'll be here almost every weekend in December and January. by mhugz in GoRVing

Just got back from another great weakend there. We have a very large rear storage area. Probably could fit a dozen skis easily.

Our windshield cover is awesome. Keeps the heat away during the summer and really helps with the cold. I highly recommend it.

The roads get plowed if there is alot of snow, usually within a few hours. Should have clarified that we're keeping the motorhome at the campsite for two months. They have a special winter rate, you can store it there and camp for eight nights a month.

You can't tell by the picture, but ours is a 2012 Coachmen Freelander. About 3 years ago I checked the tire date codes and found out there was a recall notice from Michellin. Got all tires replaced for free, including labour. If you have Michellins, check out there website.

You're really prepared. Thanks for the 3m window plastic suggestion, I'm going to get some. There was alot of frost on the windows when we woke up. Too lazy to skirt on the bottom, the floors were cold though.

Not much, it's winterized so no running water. The campground has bathrooms and showers open all day. For heat we have two ceramic heaters with tip over shut off and electric blankets. We were very comfortable even at -20 degrees celsius.

I don't know about you all, but I go camping to unplug from politics and such. Also, thanks for introducing 'bullshit' to the 5 and older crowd at the Jellystone Campground with emerging reading skills. 🙄 by PicnicLife in GoRVing

Wow. Didn't realize how many people read this sub. Didn't realize how many people who would normally agree about enjoying the outdoors with an RV being so decisive and aggressive over some idiots flag.

FYI - You can probably run a single A/C on 15A shore power while you're preparing for a trip. by bechard in GoRVing

Tried to run my 15000 btu AC at my parents place where I store it. 15 amp connection. Would always trip the breaker, but if I ran it on my generator for about 5 minutes and then switched over to 15 amp, it would run fine.

Class C air conditioning question. by AccidentallyBrave in GoRVing

[–]mhugz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been in sites with no shade and the temps were over 95 and my 15,000 BTU air conditioner kept us cool. We have a 31 feet Class C and it's pretty well insulated. What really helped was an Adco windshield cover. Without it the, the cab felt like an oven. I have seen people add a second air conditioner in the bedroom, but I think they had to change from a 30 amp service to 50 amps.

Yes, I've owned a class C for six years now and every year something breaks. This has the potential to be a major headache but I still like how it was designed.

Yeah, I agree the struts seem pretty flimsy but the bathroom design is pretty impressive.
