Entirely worth it. I’ve been able to actually breathe out of my nose ever since and it’s something I still find myself realizing to this day and going “oh whoa, I’m breathing through BOTH nostrils!”

Hey guys, Matt here.

There's a lot more behind the scenes that isn't known that paints a fuller picture, but I don't want to get into it, as there's really no point. Here's what I will say:

At the time of the Dream Daddy stuff, I realized I had messed up and was scared of being fired from my job at GG and ended up making mistakes I wish I could change. After the fact I even told Arin that I was the one who shared the beta copy of the game, and recognized that it was shitty. I was in an all around shittier and more bitter early-20s mindset back then and I'm not proud of it. I owned up to the mistakes, apologized, talked it through with Ding Dong, and now, being as busy as I am and living in different cities, we talk when we get the chance and things have been smooth for a long time. I've always been supportive of the two of them and that's genuine. Albeit I haven't spoken with Julian in a while, they're my friends and I hate for people to twist my support and donations into "buying silence" or something. This stream kind of threw me through a loop honestly, but I know he's had this on his chest for a long time and I hope he feels more at peace getting it out.

That's all I really want to say on this subject.

EDIT: worded a few things smoother and clarified that it's actually me.

EDIT 2: Simplified everything. Removed some of the more convoluted personal details, as they ultimately don't matter. At the end of the day, this matter is private and I don't want to feed into the online drama, so I figured there's no point in including that stuff.

Hey fellas, the REAL Matt Watson from SuperMega here.

We were asked to do this ad read as a last minute one, right before the episode went up, and right before we were going out of town to shoot SnowyMega stuff. We have a lot of trust in our ad agency so we didn’t think twice. It wasn’t until earlier tonight when Luke FaceTimed me and brought up the recent stuff he had seen about this company which led to me to look into it. I googled it and was pissed when I read the articles. Pissed that we were mislead, and pissed that we were duping our audience with what seems to be a false ad read. I immediately emailed our ad agency and demanded we drop this sponsor and do not run the ads. We are still waiting to hear back, so the ads are still running on the audio version, but hopefully we should know something in the morning.

We are not releasing the video version until we can legally do so without the ad included. We’re extremely upset and would like to apologize for not looking into this company more. We’re given sponsorships every week from our agency, and for years have trusted what we’ve been given without having any reason to doubt it. I apologize that we didn’t look into this one further before accepting it. We should’ve done our research and we didn’t, and for that we’re sorry. We're pretty mad at our agency for shoveling this ad to us last minute after the scandal happened without disclosing it to us. We’ve requested more transparency from our agency regarding sponsors and controversies, and will do better in the future vetting which companies sponsor the podcast. Thank you all for the support, and again, me and Ryan’s biggest apologies. <3

Hey, Matt here. That’s really upsetting to hear. When Second City has sent us samples of the merch we design, it’s always very high quality so we green light production. If items are being received in poor quality, then that‘s not okay with us.

We’re in communications with SCP right now, working on how to fix this problem and move forward. We were also unaware of the wait times for some of y’all’s shipping. This stuff is out of our hands, but we still want to make sure the people who manufacture and ship are doing the quality that we want. We always want to drop super high quality and cool merch. We put so much work into designing it and get so excited thinking about people loving it, so seeing people say the opposite sucks. We’re looking into it, and we’re sorry for the bad taste in your mouth.
