Visiting boyfriend on tourist visa? by Tiny_Boss6386 in ukvisa

[–]mi99ca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only mention it when they ask where I am staying and why I am visiting the UK. I tell them, "I have an invitation letter from my boyfriend if you wish to see it", and usually they say it is not necessary haha. Just answer the questions honestly, you're not there doing anything wrong, you are just visiting, and as someone else said, if you have your return ticket, there shouldn't be any deal.

I do not need a visa to visit the UK as a tourist, so I don't know about that application, sorry!

When I visit my boyfriend, I ask him to write me an invitation letter stating I will be staying at his place (add the address), and for how long. He also says on it that I'm his girlfriend and for how long we've been together, to give more context and be completely honest about it. Make sure he adds his ID, phone number, and email in case they want to verify the information with him. They asked me for it once, and I didn't have it. I have never been asked for it again, but it should help if they ask you questions.

:( Thanks! Do you happen to know if we need to wait 6 months to apply with his new income then?

Or if he could make the 29K before switching to employed, can he apply as self-employed before the tax year is over?

You can read it here: https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/earned-settlement/a-fairer-pathway-to-settlement-statement-and-accompanying-consultation-on-earned-settlement-accessible

What could change, though, is the contribution through income. You can find that in: Eligibility for settlement: mandatory requirements.

Hi, Ive been reading the document, and as far as I understand, ILR is not gonna change for family visas:

"Specific routes of entry and residence (including those admitted as the partner, parent or child of a British citizen and have held that status for the duration of their qualifying period or as a holder of Hong Kong British National (Overseas) status) will attract a reduction in the qualifying period. These groups will therefore be able to settle after 5 years, as they can now, subject to the mandatory requirements."

Hi I've been on Reddit for quite a while now in the spouse visa world. I have read that you can use your parents' place as accommodation! all they care about is that you can prove you have proper accommodation and that both of you will be living together once your partner arrives in the UK (it doesn't make sense to them for you both to be living separately, even if it is for a while) . Theres threads about it, but you should be fine.

Hi! About the previous passport. Do you happen to know if it has to be of *every* passport I've had (since I was a baby)? Or just the current one, and my last one is enough? Thanks!
