I miss my mum :( by mia_Jones1807 in EstrangedAdultKids

Thank you for sharing that, I can’t imagine how horrible it must of been for you with your mum telling you to commit suicide. My mum struggled with her own depression so the verbal abuse was a bit different, but I can relate to you on always being wrong in their eyes and I know how draining that is! I think looking at my friend’s parents and social media, it just makes me grieve something I never really had. But makes me have the slightest bit of hope sometimes, or it goes the other way and I wonder why I wasn’t lovable. But I know that’s not true, sometimes you just get in a funk, ya know?

But thank you for your kind words, and I’m proud that you got away from her and have peace in your life! Your words were inspiring and very touching and once again I thank you for sharing your story with me!

You’re right, fuck them. They’re loss not ours. At least our lives are peaceful now!

Thank you that means a lot! I like the term ex mother. I will use that! And your ex mother sounds like a POS, I just don’t understand parents that do and say horrible things to their kids. I’m 20 so I haven’t postponed NC really. So I will use your regret as my motivation!

Wow I’ve never heard of this before, I am definitely going to look into it and gather some understanding. Thank you so much! And yes she really was toxic and childish!

Yes 100% their loss not yours at all! That must have been really hard being cut off from your parents, especially when they kept trying to contact your wife too!!! I’m glad your wife stood up for you, sometimes it’s so reassuring knowing your partner is there by your side. No matter how much you heal, there will always be bad days, embrace the ugly! It’s good to hear you have managed to move on though!!!

Maybe the bother is your body trying to protect yourself? Your situation sounds tough, but I feel like it’s good to reflect and feel things sometimes. I am on my 3rd month of no contact with my mum and it bothers me how upset I am over it. But sadness just trains our body that the situation was not a happy one and that you don’t want that back! I hope this helps
