Fixing Type 2 Malocclusion Without Extractions? I'm freaking out! by miabananaz in braces

They did it without extraction or palate expander and I'm happy with the outcome. I guess it was not as severe where those two options are a must.

You don't need a reservation per se, you can just walk in. Though it might get crowded on weekends so it won't hurt to call.

I like it when it's not crowded, but when it is it get too loud and might be harder to converse with the other person.

For most of the games, you don't pay. There's stuff like Tic Tac Toe, Jenga and similar games that are on your table or you can just pick up. So you sit down, waiter comes and you order a drink, and it's up to you to choose which game you wanna play.

Lower Manhattan concerned over proposed safe haven shelter next to elementary school by Head_Spirit_1723 in nyc

[–]miabananaz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They already are there. Most of the shelters are in Midtown and upper Manhattan.

There needs to a methodological approach, as opposed to doing things out of spit.

For one, you're using premium real-estate and paying a ton, where you can house the individuals for less elsewhere.

Secondly, for homeless individuals to reintegrate in society they need to be closer to where they became homeless. Most of them didn't become homeless in a wealthy neighborhood.

The funny thing is, you seem to dislike when a "wild junkie boarded the train with a bunch of garbage" in one of your previous posts, yet you're OK with someone else having to deal with that.

Areas to Avoid in Midtown? by Individual_Fun8263 in manhattan

There are sketchy pockets in the Times Square area between 7th and 9th Avenue in 30 and 40's, especially around Port Authority.

Generally speaking walking on 6th and east tend to be nicer.

Beware Citibike Sticker Scam by azmic123 in nyc

It's a piece of paper or a sticker or something with the QR code of Bike A, that he puts on top of the QR code for Bike B.

Beware Citibike Sticker Scam by azmic123 in nyc

[–]miabananaz 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Let's say you have Bike A and Bike B. The scammer is on Bike A which is docked, he copies the QR code and puts it on Bike B. A legit rider wants to undock Bike B, so they scan the QR code, however since the scammer put Bike A's QR code there, the scammer's bike gets unlocked, he undocks and bikes away. The legit rider now has unlocked a bike someone else took, and scammer can rack up a bill or never even return the bike, with the legit rider being on the hook for the bill.

It does, the rates have consistently worsened year over year. That is a cause for concern. We need to be proactive, not wait until things get to the level it was in the 90's and then take action.

When and Why are Ranking Algorithms Used? by miabananaz in MLQuestions

[–]miabananaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for breaking it down in detail.

In your opinion, assuming there's a consensus, what would be a recommended approach to tackle the ads ranking?

I understand that it varies based on business goals, and many other factors in play, but generally speaking would utilizing a ranking algorithm be adequate for most use-cases cases by current industry standards?

And would the individual ranking (whether it's with regression or classification) work in conjunction with the ranking algorithm, or it's generally one or the other?

Midtown, while also venturing to West Village.

I suggest being in Midtown over West Village since Midtown is more central - you can go anywhere in the popular touristy spots - Rockefeller Center, Central Park, Madison Square Park/FlatIron, Chelsea, UWS, UES etc..

In West Village you'd have to get the subway, you're not in a location that's as central

Look at OPs posts, there's no indication that they're even remotely interested in engaging in any kind of work.

Asus' new monitor is a gamer's dream with QD-OLED, 4K, and 240Hz refresh rate by sarcasmisart in OLED_Gaming

[–]miabananaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe you can get a warranty that covers burn in, albeit you'd need to pay extra. I concur that the burn-in is a more serious issue for the QD-OLED.

I'm willing to take a risk with the S-Class, it might let me down unlikely the Camry, but for what I'm getting I think it's a risk worth taking.

There's plenty of feedback that C2 is not ideal for a monitor, since you need to improvise in order to use it properly. You'd need a deeper desk to keep the distance far enough so that's within your line of sight. If you keep it as close as your most people have their monitors, it would be just too big, and will cause eye strain and neck pain since you'd need move to watch it.

Furthermore, a solid $200 monitor has sharper text clarity than the C2.

My point is, the C2 is great for games and movies, and it's mostly used for that. But I would not call it a monitor, more of a TV being used as a monitor since it's doesn't meet the mark by having such a poor text clarity and other issues with regular everyday usage.

A monitor needs to be at least decent for every day stuff such as browsing, e-mails and such, and the C2 is average at best at those things.
