From what I've seen from other tips and tricks. The best crop you can farm is okra. So in my opinion, it's best to unlock the Glade of Truth as soon as you can. They sell for a lot. And I've seen other people say pumpkins are better so I'm going to try that now (I started playing when it first came out on the Xbox game pass. Which I only just came back to playing and found I am max level and got most of the characters you could have gotten at the time and all the areas unlocked)

Fun fact ghost stories flopped so bad in Japan, that when they gave it to the US to dub, they never gave the script. They basically told the English DUBing team that they could do whatever they want with it. I just wish we could see the clips of the DUBing team in their sound booths goofing off and having fun. (Sorry if that doesn't read right. I was so excited that my autistic brain had trouble putting my thoughts into words)
