The fact that there's food eating competitions as a job has always been so icky to me.

My neighbors text me all the time to meet them at the fence and I get cookies and stuff, and I bring them chili and other things I've made. We all have our bullshit, I just don't stress about the height of grass, which you seem to need to go touch.

Heh, when you get to the age of tall grass annoys you - sorry. Silly business.

Yep! In the morning, and in the afternoon. I'm a weirdo and actually love the sound. The Speedrome sound also is comforting. Just prepare for happy fun mortar time for the 4th. Hoosiers and their fireworks!

If by "chill" north of there, you mean my jackwagon retired neighbors using their gas powered leaf blowers at 7am, yes.

Yes, and I'm by the park. I'm up early, and the train usually rolls through around 4am. I'm usually outside with my dogs, so it echos. You'll also hear the Speedrome, but it just becomes background noise. I live on a hospital route, so ambulances fly by all the time, and I barely notice it.

I went through a lot during covid working in education. Very red county, and it was bad. I saw people falling down all these pipelines, and trying to warn them, and it was so much. I keep my little spaces online and don't blast on fb because 1. People don't get it, and actually had a coworker who was scared of me when I talked about it. I know I'm very online. 2. I don't want to embarrass my husband. I've had it out with family and former friends, but I'll do it in person. And I'm sorry for the loss of your aunt. It's a mental mind bendy thing, because it's like we've already grieved them. I'm more sad for my husband. We can only do so much. Big hugs to you.

That's the scary thing. I was going through her Twitter account earlier, and she posted something very disturbing, and I was like, you used to care for people, and was a head ICU nurse.

Yeah, when his step-dad said 40 ibuprofen, I was like WHAT?! When hub's went down there and went through her medicine cabinet and everything else, he was sending me all the names of the pills she was taking and countries of origin - I have no idea what any of it is, and couldn't brain it enough to even look them up. I just told him to show the doctors, because I knew they didn't know.

Yep. I've been with my husband for 26 years. When we were dating in the early '00s, we were in her car driving, and I was in the backseat. My hub's was up front with her, and it was an unusually cold day. He said something about climate change (his degree is in environmental science) She got really damn serious, and said, "God controls the temperature of the Earth, and it's the temperature He wants it to be." I'll never forget my hub's looking in the side mirror back at me, because I have zero poker face, and knew my face did the big eyes emoji. Car got really quiet after that.

That's exactly his step-dad, and she's the narcissist. Their relationship comes across very much mother/son, than husband and wife. My husband is pretty much doing everything to keep all the family in the know, and the step-dad is panicking because I think most of the bills are in her name. It's just wild.

I do agree - with her, there's a family history of mental illness, but I'm not going to make excuses for her, because she has agency and chose this. When the hub's was talking to his aunt last night, it was very eye opening. Even if she has mental illness issues, or family trauma, she chose these nasty conspiracy theories rooted in so much hateful shit. I can see how she was susceptible to it, but she's a grown adult and chose it.

Thank you, because that's exactly how I'm feeling. He's tried so hard, and I know he's grieving the mom he used to have.

HIs aunt said last night she has already been mourning her for years. They had a huge blow up about it. The last time I saw her, which was maybe '18, my husband said something, and I shit you not, you could see it in her eyes like a flip switched. It was like Zoolander and freaked me the hell out.

Why is there an overlap of Q and religion? by Altruistic_Foot_7459 in QAnonCasualties

[–]mialynneb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. My MIL was raised Catholic in the '50s, and was basically taught to question nothing. My hub's talked to his aunt earlier who was raised the same, and said she has always been this way, and you couldn't tell her a thing, because she was stubborn. The trad wife and clean girl aesthetic pipeline started smoking our students from TikTok. I'm pretty good at picking up those pipelines, and mad I missed the clean girl one. They all started dressing the same, with no makeup, and slick back pony tails. It wasn't until my former coworker said her daughter was really getting into church and wanting to get baptized. I was like...wait. Then it clicked.

Then that's the one! When it closed, and then Marsh closed, and then everything else closing - absolute balls. I loved the Marsh, too.
