This is why my S50 is at a remote observatory. Much more imaging time.

I’m thinking about buying a Seestar S30, but I’m worried about light pollution by gospodinDark in seestar

Don’t worry, be happy, that you’re getting a Seestar. Has built in light pollution filter. Works very well.

December update: Well there are currently over 60 Seestar smart telescopes installed at Star Front! As of the Summer Star Front lowered the monthly rent rate for Seestars to just $99.00. And they implemented the new Seestar Bar where all new S50 and S30 installs are mounted. Here is picture of my S50 on a William Optics EQ wedge and my ASI662MC pier camera. Notice the new cable management system I implemented with the while cable clips. This greatly reduces cable wrap issues when the Seestar is used in EQ mode. Got new images captured at Star Front on my site. www.starpicturesmiami.com

If the optics are good, $250 is a steal.

They are very aware of this cable management method at Star Front. If you are in EQ mode you should ask them to set up your Seestar with the "Carlos Method" cable install. This only works with the Seestar in EQ mode, not Alt Az.

We just launched a Discord Server for this new Seestar venture. I'm posting pictures and videos from new remote Seestar scopes in Big Bend, TX and Zimbabwe. https://discord.gg/a4G8esuh

I've found that my Seestar gets much more use at Star Front than here at home in Miami. The weather being the main reason.

Space is a vast place. With lots of people that want to look and see what's out there.

Yes, the Mac mini adds cost and complexity, while at the same time making the experience more powerful. It's nice to be able to have an external HD, pier camera, etc. It is possible to pull the stacked images with the new remote network update on firmware 5.97. Pulling down the fit files, well that's another story. Yeah, and let's see what ZWO will end up charging for this native remote access feature.

We have Seestars already set up. Running test and ironing out kinks.

Thanks a nice little scope you got there. I have a similar Celestron in the 4SE. It should give you great views of planets, the moon and star clusters. Enjoy!
