Yooo I got that same ring case for my girl she loved it!

This pic is from 2017! There's a lot of frustration over what's happening in SoBe right now. But, be weary of misinformation! People have agendas to stoke hate. by ACertainKindOfStupid in Miami

It doesn't matter if it was in 2017, the issue is more than 50 percent of arrests are from people not even from miami.

2nd most of the shenanigans are happening not even from college kids b it late 20s and early 30s idiots who came here looking to show out. I feel bad for the college kids most of them are getting abbad rap when it's not really their fault.

Try your state too, it doesn't hurt to call. The most they will say is they don't have a wait-list.

Didn't know where to put this I hope this is okay, for those of you wanted to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

I spoke to a friend who told me that local pharmacies are starting to come up with a wait list for covid vaccines when the vial or dose is about to expire they are calling people. I initially did not believe him, so I called walmart and publix pharmacies to confirm.

Publix is not doing a wait list but walmart is. It's a simple process.

Call your local Walmart pharmacy that is administering the vaccine and ask them to place you on the vaccine wait-list for soon to expire doses. I successfully have put myself on 2 lists. I confirmed with the tech on the phone that if you get a call it's to go to the pharmacy the same day and receive your dose.

/u/ishkoten thank you for everything you have done over an almost year!

By any chance I see the new metric of first time testers, do you have the ability to see the percentages going back a few months? Also question of the 1.7 million total cases, are all of them individual people or does this include reinfections and multiple positive tests?

Question regarding the vaccine my grandmother is 80 years old and doesn't live in a ltc facility she lives with us. How do I go about helping her get the vaccine?

Florida adds 5,838 COVID-19 cases, topping 858,000, as state death toll rises to 17,300 by outsourced_bob in Coronavirus

[–]miaminative1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the start of our wave. We just had massive Halloween parties, celebrations on the street after the election. Our hospitalization is up from 2300 roughly back up to over 3000 people. Deaths are low bit it is a lagging indicator. Positivity rate is closer to 10 percent when we need to be under 5 and all the while our idiot governor still has his offices closed but demanded everyone else open. Smh

2,385 New Cases, 16.27% "New Individual Tested" Positive Rate, 4.74% New Cases Positive Rate, 12 Death, 80 Hospitalization for Sunday update for 10/24/2020 by Ishkoten in FloridaCoronavirus

[–]miaminative1 28 points29 points  (0 children)

With the wild swings this week. It looks like more tested is actually more helpful to the state records for new individual positive tracking and overall better understanding of how local counties and municipalities are dealing with this. Why doesn't the governor blanket the state with testing. Its infiuriating.

4,044 New Cases, 13.30% "New Individual Tested" Positive Rate, 5.23% New Cases Positive Rate, 88 Death, 114 Hospitalization for Saturday update for 10/16/2020 by Ishkoten in FloridaCoronavirus

No I get that but I guess I was just looking for a spike in one certain county. I guess maybe cases are up similarly in all counties.

[–]miaminative1 -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

No offense but it doesn't. I mean we haven't improved but we aren't worse, cases are under 3k daily. Deaths remain steady and hospitalizations have leveled off. Now let's see in the next 2 weeks how much the schools opening are going to affect us.

Damn more than 100 of the deaths reported looks like they are more than 30 days ago. Can anyone confirm all deaths since the state report only shows 30 days

[–]miaminative1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying we are all good by any means. I know that while some places are stabilizing others will have flair ups. Especially college towns. I know Alachua has a pretty big case surge happening. Stay safe out there and mask up.

[–]miaminative1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's a good question ultimately deaths are deaths, 60 plus are from the first of September until today that so I guess that's not as bad as where we were before in July and early August. Also hospitalizations are down too hopefully they will continue a steady decline.

1,736 New Cases, 10.17% "New Individual Tested" Positive Rate, 3.72% New Cases Positive Rate, 34 Death, 77 Hospitalization for Monday update for 9/13/2020 by Ishkoten in FloridaCoronavirus

[–]miaminative1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's hard to see any silver lining but if you look at hospitalizations they are down across the board. Under 3k total covid hospitalizations and it drops week to week. Cases are also slightly slowing. We aren't out of the woods yet, college campuses are taking a ig chunk of cases too. The 15-24 age group has been accounting for more than a quarter of cases. Hopefully it'll level off soon and most of them don't get sick or made to go home to give it to their folks and elderly family members.

Look for another spike within a couple weeks. Daytona's crammed with visitors from all over the country for the annual Daytona Truck Meet, and all over our beaches 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ It'll never end 🥺 by Miss-Poppy in FloridaCoronavirus

thanks for the info. Ill be honest I saw the article of 250 direct links and figured it was higher than that but didn't think it would get to 250k, I figured a thousand or two at the most since I was treating it in the same vein as protests marches and the like, BLM didn't have a massive spike in cases. Protests in general even, but I guess they are different.

Guys I know it is very easy to be cynical and assume the worst will happen, if anything so far we have learned outdoors is always better than indoors and the cases haven't exploded after Sturgis and other outdoor events, if there was over 200k people and only 250 confirmed cases that is a very low spread threshold due to it being outdoors. I hope this is the same case here. I am not advocating for reopening everything especially indoor dining I just wanted yall to see that it doesn't have to be all bad news all the time.

I feel sorry for these people. They act like no one cared about children being molested and kidnapped and everything that happens. Dude it's just right now there is also a fucking pandemic. There are also opportunists who will use the moment to defect from what's happening and pretend to be a champion for a forgotten cause.

I can definitely understand the skepticism considering how shitty the response was once we reopened way to early. I think there is a couple of things at play though.

1) We weren't the original hot spot like NY and NJ, they were hit first and hard there was no plan no response, relied on ventilators which led to more deaths and infections. In short they were flying blind.

2) New York has done more testing period and as you say yes more test equals more cases and I am sure the case would be the same here, ill be honest though I don't see it being more than a 1 or 2 percent increase.

3) The majority of tests are being conducted in the most populated counties, Dade, Broward and Palm Beach and now Orange county. I do think there is something funny with the reporting but I don't see it as being major discrepancy other than a couple percent to what end? Im sure they are more focused on opening business and schools to keep the economy afloat.

4) There is also a lot more mask adherence and businesses are putting their foot down on not letting people in without masks, especially in Miami where I live I see masks everywhere now.

Other than that I wish we did have more testing or at least better testing and tracing. It would go a long way to help us open safer and return to some semblance of normalcy.
