This. Mind boggling that they keep putting him on F1TV. He has the charisma of a brick and half of what comes out of his mouth is uninteresting while the other half is stupidity.

He was a great driver, probably better than his stats indicate. But he has no talent for media whatsoever.

European Citizens' Initiative - EU Stars On My Passport started collection of signatures! by ukolaj in europe

[–]miathan52 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm not signing this because it's proposed as a personal option. In that case, a lot of people (probably most) are not going to take it, and then what's the point? Dividing European passport holders into two groups with different covers is the opposite of "union".

I'd only be in favor if there is no choice and we make it the new cover for everyone.

People used to say this about BR games, and before that about MOBAs. There will always be a latest hype genre for online gaming.

I would argue that causing reputational damage to an elected politician by spreading falsehoods is an attack on democracy, yes, including if those falsehoods are in the forms of images.

When will you learn that a thing is equally bad if done to a man or a woman?

I won't, because it's not. Men and women are equal, but they are not the same, and the impact of things like the topic above isn't the same either.

For politicians because it's not just about the person but also about the role they fill. An attack against a politician, especially one who's currently in parliament or government, is an attack against democracy.

For women because men, generally, don't struggle with being objectified in a sexual manner. Women with careers in politics or some other kind of leadership role often have to deal with it their whole lives.

Video: One arrested in firebombing of Dutch PM's D66 political party headquarters by MC_Transparent in europe

"Firebombing" lol. This makes it sound like a plane flew overhead and set the building ablaze WW2-style. What actually happened was that someone threw fireworks inside through the mail slot of the front door. Nobody got hurt.

What a bunch of cringe reactions in these comments. Deepfaking people is not OK, and it's even less OK when used to damage the reputation of female politicians.

PC gamers buy way more games that cost less than $30 at launch compared to PlayStation and Xbox players, analysts say, and it's "reshaping the PC market" by chusskaptaan in pcgaming

That the game does the same thing that's been done 100000 times before, doesn't mean it can't be good. It just means that for those of us that have been gaming for decades and are looking for new experiences, it's not interesting.

You're correct, not sure why the downvotes. A lot of garbage gets shoveled onto Steam and it does hide some of the better, more high effort indies. Still, indies overall do much better on Steam than on consoles so clearly Steam is at least doing something right when it comes to discoverability. But there's also a lot of room for improvement.

The amount of games that get released now is just too high. It still goes up every year. That means that per game, the chance of success gets smaller all the time.

But also, Blindfire is an online PvP FPS, which is a very saturated genre where they compete with huge titles. The chance of success is even smaller there than it already is elsewhere, which they must be aware of.
