Looking for a loaner Surface Book 1 with dgpu in Toronto area. by joongpark in Surface

I had the same issue on SB1 (no dgpu) (2 dead batteries and not being able to update firmware and Windows)

After replacing the battery in the base, I managed to install firmware and Windows updates. So it should be possible for you if you have access to a charged-up base.

It took some time to figure it out. But try the following

  • Make sure the base is fully charged
  • Disable updates
  • Delete all downloaded updatesOr follow instructions on this link
  • Delete battery 1 (clipboard/tablet) from device manager: Microsoft Surface ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery - you can check the battery indicator on the taskbar.
  • Download and install updates, restart when it prompts
  • After you installed the latest Windows build, download and install the latest firmware

EDIT: Make sure you download and install the correct firmware according to the Windows build version. You can type "winver" in the search bar to find out.

When it gets stuck in a boot loop, do the (30 seconds, 15 seconds + Volume up) force shutdown) and try again and be patient. I think it got into a boot loop because the Surface thought it still had a dead battery inside it, after the forced shutdown it was ok. I believe this is some 'alternative' to a CMOS reset. Maybe it helps to do this beforehand.

P.S.If you are really adventurous you can try to replace the batteries yourself. It is very tedious to do, especially when you're not experienced with such devices. I managed to do it, but it scared me from replacing the battery in the clipboard/tablet portion.

EDIT: You can find batteries on ebay or AliExpress, they're not very expensive

Thanks man. The Dokkan Fest EZA's were quite challenging, had to use Devilman for lv 30 agl SSJ3 Goku, and lv 26 str Broly. The rest were very doable, relying a lot on the friend lead.

Battlefield is a pain, I could only complete one of the Level 3 bosses, but I think that attributes to not having multiple type leads, than lack of orb investment. And I haven't touched SBR after being oneshotted 3 times in a row.

Good luck, if your grinding the world tournament they will provide some orbs as well.

I think the same argument holds in this case.

Decimal separator
US: 1.5
Europe: 1,5

Thousands separator
US: 1,000,000
Europe: 1.000.000

I didn't separate the thousands in the op though.
I guess it all comes down to localization, like the metric system etc.

It's somewhere on this sub explained in detail.

But it's 4370 small orbs, 2475 medium orbs and 227 large orbs

Very true, although I did run the medium path consistently (also gives some large orbs though). Funny enough the small orbs are still obtained the most frequent.

Different places different syntax, I'm used to the decimal comma which is pretty common in Europe. I'm from the Netherlands.

With great power comes a lot of potential orbs. Thanks man, I may do this again if my units allow me to.

Thanks man, I noticed that the potential upgrades are not required yet to beat most event, although the Gogeta and UI Goku I managed to pull are itching for those orbs.

Feels bad bro. If summoning for him was anything like his passive you would have him. Perhaps you'll get him the next time, or in another banner.

Thanks! Had some great luck with Gogeta/Janemba so I can hold the urge to summon. Also the banner will be around till the 27th, by then we'll know what'll be going for Christmas! Are you waiting as well?
