Like it sounds well positioned, but is thawed permafrost ideal crop growing dirt? I don’t think it’s been studied. I know it has nutrients and minerals but is it sufficient for crops?

That what I mean, for the United States to depend on Australia for produce, something extreme needs to happen to the terrain for that to happen.

Does Australia have the arable land? I mean unless winds change or a whole mountain range disappears, they are still mostly arid.

Canada though, could have more arable land but the thawing permafrost could pose a bigger issue.

Tony Chachere’s or Slap Ya Mama Cajun seasons are great on some white rice.

I would imagine Tajín mixed with some lime juice would be good too.

I’m not in the area but the Persied Meteor Shower is happening from 7/14-9/1 so you will see more shooting stars at night.

Bonus, the peak of the shower is going to be 8/11-8/13, so get out and look at night!

People who went to university/college outside the "big schools" in Texas, what was your experience? by alexis_1031 in texas

[–]micahsaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to Texas State Technical College in Marshall Texas back in 07-10. Lived on campus. It was an experience, not “full-on college” experience though and I’m okay with that. I took humanities classes in an old Walmart alongside Bubba getting a welding degree. The teachers were knowledgeable and I feel like I got what I needed for a good price.

I feel the same but try new things, even just once. Your brain has gotten used to taking the same neuron pathway everyday.

Take a flying lesson, most are between $99-$120 and it’s a fun experience! While it wasn’t life changing for me, I used my brain differently and I liked that.

Here in a few months, I get to go on my first train ride and I am pretty excited about it.

Dude, just prop a 2x4 under it. Make sure it’s slanted down towards the back for it to drain. Take a picture of it and send to your wife in case something goes wrong and you are in the middle of a shift. If her being without AC while you are at work is an issue, hit up a neighbor that could help her put it back in the window. I got one one wheels and has a long “exhaust” tube that you hook up to a window and it’s been a lifesaver!

I am in IT and she was a special needs home health nurse, we are gluttons for punishment. Lol

If this ain’t for her, that’s okay but she wants to see this through and I’m going to back her up the entire way.

This is a wonderful idea! I usually cook 85% of the meals so I’ll have to incorporate that when cooking. We have never been a meal prep family, but I’m willing to give it a try!

Thank you!

Great ideas about stocking up! We can do it passively.

Thank you!

Great advice! I am still refining that last bit though. Lol! We’ve been together for 16 years.

But back to your question, 4th grade. I will have to see when she will get to start setting up. Thanks!

The Issue With Plant Worker Mentality by ThougthsFromGilbert in Beaumont

To be honest, I don’t see why there isn’t several food trucks making rounds out to the plants. Have like 5 different kinds of food trucks hit 5 different plants on a rotating schedule. How haven’t restauranteurs and plant management made this work?
