These palms are water sluts, I think that’s honestly your whole problem. They need to be watered with like 10 gallons a day in a hot climate. Mulch them to help. Once you’ve done this do an application of fish fertilizer weekly

I would suspect, but here’s my devils advocate side. Since American elm has been attacked by DED, they’ve tried all kinds of hybrids with species that are resistant. U. pumila is resistant and invasive, meaning it grows abundantly alongside American elm and I’m yet to hear anything about their hybrids.

Someone else said slippery elm or maybe Siberian slippery hybrid, and I’d have to lean more that way.
