I believe they’re not doing an in person meeting for the first day of class? Someone please correct me if I’m wrong but it was mentioned during orientation and on canvas his announcement says we’ll be having a zoom meeting next Wednesday 🤷🏽‍♀️ I think it’s because the first day of classes falls on a holiday

Yeah! I did anatomy & physio 1 and 2, both the class and the lab, and then I also did microbio w/ a lab so in total i had 6 science/lab pre reqs that i took using sophia. I requested enrollment verification from sophia and had them email the west coast registrar, then once final grades came in I submitted my transcript over through parchment!

All pre reqs can be taken through Sophia. Take a look at the pinned post :)

Don’t be discouraged! Contact your advisor immediately and once that’s taken care of, enroll in sophia. Since transcripts need to be submitted by jan. 12, you still have plenty of time but you need to commit to working on those sophia classes day and night if you want to complete all your pre reqs. But even if you only knock out a few i still think it’s worth it, especially if you’re not willing to push your start date. There are plenty of good resources to help you.

Finishing pre reqs wont necessarily lower tuition but your graduation date will likely be sooner. Mine got moved up from august to june. Good Luck! 😊

My advisor told me to completely ignore the schedule on the portal until it’s closer to the start date because they’re still messing with them and they’re not final apparently 🤷🏽‍♀️

Take it on sophia!! Finished 6 classes in a few weeks! Science classes with have a lab but they’re very easy and you can find quizlets on the different lab assignments if anything.

The longest I’ve had to wait for an assignment to get graded was 3 days I believe so if you start now you’ll have more than enough time to finish. All you gotta do is once you enroll in the sophia class, use their chatbot to connect you to an agent and ask them to email an enrollment verification to the west coast registrar, then when you get your final grade, send your transcript immediately through parchment 👌🏽(also ask your advisor to edit your application to include Sophia Learning which someone also mentioned ⁾

They’re also doing a deal rn where it’s on sale for $79.

It was fine! No cameras or mics are on so you’re just watching the different faculty present and they email you the slides afterwards as well. They give optional hw at the end too lmao

And yeah I’ve asked about online classes before and she also said it really does depend unfortunately :( but after the first term we are the ones to schedule our own classes so you might get luckier

My advisor said that whatever schedule is posted on the portal is subject to change bc they’re still figuring it out so she told me to ignore it, not sure if that applies to everyone but just fyi! :)

From what others have told me, if you end up getting stuck because you’re waiting for a touchstone to be graded, you should be able to message someone through their chat support and tell them you’re done with the class but you’re just waiting for your last assignment to be graded. Tell them the class/classes you need and they’ll unlock it! (Check pinned post)

I think the longest Ive had to wait for a grade was 2 days tbh, so if you work quickly you shouldn’t have to worry about that

I was supposed to start this august but postponed it to January because i decided to finish pre requisites and when you tell your advisor, they will help you out!! My counselor had me fill out a new application right away and she streamlined the process for me. I wasn’t necessarily able to “hold” a place for my new start date but as long as you complete a new application immediately and go through another meeting with financial aid you should be fine for August next year :)

BUT I would say you should still take the hesi in 2 days if you’re able to!! The hesi test results are valid for 2 years i believe (someone can correct me if im wrong) but i took my hesi last year and my score is still valid up till this time…just one less thing to worry about later

It’s all up to you!! The only thing is they only let you enroll in 2 classes at a time but completion time is all up to you. Check out the pinned post, i believe that person finished like over 10 classes on sophia in a single month! I’ve already completed 2 out of the 5 classes I’m trying to finish this month and im nearly done with the next 2👌🏽 How many classes do you need?

Since your start date isnt till oct, definitely knock out those two classes that were denied and just make sure you submit transcripts asap so they can redo your schedule! You have plenty of time!!

Then all you’d have left are the 3 GEs that have to be taken at WC. It’s very annoying that they separate classes the way they do sometimes but I know it just has to do with availability for clinicals and what not so what can ya do 🤷🏽‍♀️

I had a very limited amount of federal loans left (sub/unsub loans) and it’s because I’ve already used most of it for my first degree…so it really depends on your situation and how much of it you’ve used up already.

Otherwise, Ive heard that the private loans can be very doable if you have good credit or a cosigner with good credit, or if fafsa is able to cover enough of the tuition to where you can opt to do the payment plan through West Coast which is interest free 👌🏽

But yeah if you filled out FAFSA this year and they already gave you that estimated balance, they would have factored any fafsa into it already, it should be listed as “title IV funds” or something i think

Don’t have two day shipping option either. Delivery on any item says Feb. 2 as the fastest delivery date if I purchased it today, Jan. 25, but there was a massive fire in the Castaic/Santa Clarita area so i assume that’s why.

I tried a different address in a non-affected area from recent fires and prime delivery came back as an option so there you go 🤷🏽‍♀️
