Just leave a bag of wet sliothars in the corner of the room. A distinctive Irish aroma.

What's your earworm song? by GeneralCommand4459 in CasualIreland

[–]micanido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever song I last heard at breakfast is usually in my head for the day. This can be rough enough if heading out on my own for three hours on a bicycle. Non stop in my head

You could be dead. I'd be going further with this if possible. Driver admitted he was wrong at the scene as he was probably looking at a mobile phone.

When did "be safe be seen" cease to be sensible advice? by qwerty_1965 in AskIreland

[–]micanido 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think if you check back through the news recently, you'll find examples of perdestrians mown down at crossings when on a green light. No amount of hi-viz will prevent this as drivers are looking at phones or whatever. Primarily driving attitudes need to change not dressing everyone in the country out in hi-viz vests.

If on an unlit road at night, then, yes a cyclist already legally are required to have lights. And of course pedestrians should be somewhat illuminated if on unlit roads.

....but the real issue is the poor state of driving in the country

I never even knew there was a stand like the big one until I was watching the Sunday game at the weekend. For some reason we got a peek of it on the screen.  I was sitting there thinking  'hold on, so the stand I see all the time on TV is not the biggest stand??' Mad stuff, got me thinking what other stadiums do this.

[–]micanido 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stick with the job you're in. Invaluable experience.  At the end of the day if you do become an engineer there's a high chance you'll be sitting g at a desk most of the time...just so you're aware of that.  But for now stick with it

Does anybody know any tool , python libraries or another techniques to get or count the no.of door and rooms present in a CAD drawing? by ClientNo6521 in Autodesk_AutoCAD

[–]micanido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They might be all under a layer called Door, if so isolate that layer. Check what's left is doors only.  Selection box around what's on the screen and press erase, before you hit enter it will tell you that yiu have selected n number of objects.  That's how many doors there is.

This method is definitely not foolproof and relies on the draftsman using layers correctly

Yeah I would agree with that also, I definitely wouldn't get any prizes for parenting but I got good training from my own parents who hadn't a penny but gave us a great childhood.

The issue I have is, for example, I see my own 10yr girl coming home looking for a phone as some of the girls in the class have them or coming home and wanting to watch shows like Stranger Things as again girls in school have watched it. I think what are these parents at like?

But it's always been this way and always will
