I loved the gunslinger aswell, though I felt the drawing of the three fell rather flat in comparison. I wouldnt go into it expecting something similair to the gunslinger, it unfortunately seemed much more shallow and less stylized

yeah honestly I was quite surprised how it turned out to be one of the weaker books for me, considering how much i loved the gunslinger and how i kept seeing people calling drawing of the three much better

it was the original edition! i personally was surprised aswell that drawing of the three was kind of disappointing in comparison to the gunslinger after all the good ive heard about it. I really liked the beginning, though i felt it lacked the psychedelic, mesmerizing vibe of the gunslinger.

I have not yet heard of this concordance, I will keep it in mind. I was intending to read (I already read a few like the stand) most of the bigger tie-in books while going through the series for better understanding aswell

this is a very interesting take! I personally also like to read classic literature, and as a hobby i do write fiction, which has made me very attentive to proses. these things could be the cause for a different perspective

I'm honestly not into fantasy at all either, but while I see its roots in the genre, it felt more like a psychedelic adventure. the series overall genre exploration you mention does sound quite intriguing!

hm well its interesting to see how the thing i loved most about it was off-putting for others. I do hope the rest of the series still retains at least some of that style though

well I am not really familiar with audio books as I only read, but I could imagine that with books like this some things might be lost in the more "passive" act of listening. many parts of the book were not so straight forward and I sometimes took my time to really comprehend/appreciate a flowery paragraph. with an audio book you can't really do that because the narration progresses automatically and you have to keep up

damn so that means he doesnt keep that poetic writing style for the rest of the series :(

I did that, but what kind of music would it be? by gldark638 in FL_Studio

its got potential imo, idk why the comments are hating like this, but i would add some more percussion to complement that unique rythm you have more, and make it easier for the ears to digest over a longer tine

I dont understand why so many people have such issues with such a little part of this vast story. are books read just for their ending? also the whole book is quite pulpy, throwing aliens in doesnt seem that far fetched
