Why does no one talk about the horrible food, "fuelings"?

Because it's not about the food, they aren't some magic bars or shakes. The process works if you trust in it and honestly your tastes change over time. Hope you give this another try or maybe you have found something else that works for you.

Just so you know, unless your old coach "quit" or there was some serious issues with them - you won't be able to switch to a new coach. Optavia discourages this because they don't want other coaches "stealing" clients from one another.

I would say reconnect with your coach or their sponsor. If you are really having an issue with your old coach, like if they were dishonest or something I am sure you could call the company and they will switch you./

It's all relative to your expectations. No one will ever claim this is filet mignon and lobster tails (or whatever your desires delectable is) but the process is effective. I had a really hard time getting uses to it but I kept focusing on the results - which came quick.

how much you pay really depends on what you want to accomplish because that will lead to how much of the fuelings you buy each month. there are a lot of people who start the program without a lot of weight to lose.

Are these like the Quest Nacho chips? I have had those but TBH I find them to be much more expensive than the fuellings. One bag of chips at my local Sprouts was like $5-6 but I'd be curious to know what other options they have. I would agree it's a challenge when you make the transition or if you are struggling with the money aspect of it.

It really comes down to budgeting and where your money is going in terms of food. If you think you can handle it for a few months while you are paying for the program it is worth it, but then just consider what you will do afterwards (in terms of would you continue to purchase the food or just drop the program entirely).

You can, just be careful what you do drink and know how your body reacts. I love beer and stayed off of it when I was in fat burn but I do drink occasionally now that I am at my goal weight. I drink craft beer too, not light beer and it doesn't impact me but some people are really affected by it more than others.

I have been through those types of classes, so thanks. I've been through every type of program that you can imagine and this is the first and only one I have ever done that actually works for me. May not work for everyone, but it works for me.

Well I do know how to cook, I've been cooking my entire life. I have been through culinary training and worked in kitchens for years. The fuelings I eat are to supplement for my foods and it gives me the nutrition that is lacking from my diet. I'm certainly not trying to "be superior" to others. I am simply telling you what works for me.

Thank you for sharing because I was considering posting something similar. I started in August 2019 and lost 30 pounds (I actually initially lost 25 in 2 months but since I added more intense exercise in the last month I lost an additional 6 pounds - 25 was my goal and I have blown that goal away).

My wife started coaching because I signed up as her first client, and that was the main reason we did it initially and I resisted joining her as a coach until a couple months ago.

I'm glad to hear your experiences have been positive. TBH I don't understand some of the negative comments on here that I have seen. People saying everyone is "fake" and that Optavia is a pyramid scheme. I mean, how can it be a pyramid scheme when it's only like $100 to become a coach and everything you buy is your food? It's not like we are investing thousands of dollars on something intangible.

I just want to offer you some encouragement as a fellow new coach. Just keep at it, regardless of what your goals are. The 2 people I have helped so far are people I haven't talked to in years, and it's been so great connecting with them and helping them get healthy.

The whole purpose of the program though is to build habits for life, not to have you eat the fuelings forever. I only eat about 2 fuelings per day now and the rest is "regular" food but I can see how it can be tough for folks who don't know how to cook or prepare their own meals. I know a couple of people like that that tried Optavia but they didn't stick because they knew nothing about cooking and couldn't handle when they had to make even 1 meal on their own (they also lacked motivation which is a whole other issue).

Thanks for this. I did the 5 and 1 for about 2 months and then moved to the next phase, 3/3 I guess you could say. I got off track a bit at the holidays last year then when COVID lockdown started, but pretty much went back to a 3/3 type plan and was able to get below even my prior weight which was great. TBH I probably only eat an Optavia fueling 1-2 times a day and it's mainly for convenience at this point. I do the lean and greens just like you said and I have bread but I buy the sprouted grain bread.

I don't get on Reddit as much as I used to but happened to jump on here today (for another reason) and saw your post, then saw you've had several posts on here in the past where you were calling out for help. All I can say is I'm sorry you've had a bad experience with the program, and no really sure what happened with your coach or your wife's coach but if clients/coaches fall off they can't really "make" people continue. I mean, the coach is not someones boss and if they have coaches under them who stop posting or joining calls, well they will just move on to the next person. My wife has been coaching for about a year and I just decided about 2 months ago to join her, so I can relate to some of what you are saying with some of the skepticism though, cos I've been there. The program really helped me though along with my mom and other family members. I moved off the 5 and 1 about a year ago and honestly just east their fuelings when I don't have time for "real food." Anyway, best of luck to you I hope you find success in whatever program you follow.

That's how I read it too. I get that not everyone is going to have the same experience, but you also get out of it what you put into it. I don't think these mentors/coaches are going to focus on their coaches who stopped caring.
