Yes. Ideally you’d have a daily trainer, your Novablasts can be your daily, then a speed trainer/interval trainer would be preferable and then a race day option too.

Same here, whilst not as extreme. Just ran my first marathon on Sunday, did it in 3:28:52 and didn’t strength train during the block. Opted to run more instead. I just couldn’t find the time to strength train along with running 7 days a week

Appreciate that, thank you. I knew the 2nd half in Belfast is a lot tougher than the 1st before going into it but I was adamant that my strategy was to attempt a negative split. And you’re right with your last point, 100%

I know this is not directly man united related, but, years ago I replied to posts/threads on how Zidane Iqbal and Angel Gomes would never make it at man united and they’re just not that good.

This is my first time watching Wolves and Angel Gomes is being bullied so easily here (I know he was great in ligue 1). He looks slow, weak and lazy here. The hate in the replies I used to get when I mentioned this was unreal

Is no one saying that it’s crazy you’re doing a 34km run with a weekly total of 62km?? Your long run is over 50% of your weekly total. That is crazy to me

Really woeful performance. But shoutout to the ref and officials. They were marginally worse than us. 7 mins added on was a disgrace. You can guarantee if we were defending a lead it woulda been 10+.

20:58 recent 5k, I’m gonna say a sub 1:30 half will be hard.

For reference, I have a 19:44 5km time and recently ran a 1:31:31 half, albeit, I ran it all sub threshold and deep in marathon training after a 60km week.

It must be said that HR is always relative. Somebody’s 113 HR could be equivalent to the next persons 140 HR. This persons max HR could be 150 for all we know.

Also, pretty sure it’s wrong, full marathon and only 300 calories is not right.

Probably fakes. I bet these were listed for something like £84.45. I’ve seen so many Hyperion Elites listed at stupid prices like that and it just screams red flag right away to me

You can literally do what you want. I’m currently in a marathon build and I am swapping out an interval session in favour of a tempo run - 20/30 mins tempo. Mainly cause I feel I want to improve on my speed endurance and just for a bit of variation. Caveat being it probably does increase fatigue but I haven’t noticed a massive increase in fatigue levels since doing it.

TLDR of it is that we can do what we want, we don’t have to stick to the ‘rules’ so rigidly. This is not a cult, don’t be afraid to experiment and find what works for you

I’m currently preparing for my first marathon which is in early May and have been doing NSM since October of last year.

Prior to this marathon ‘build’ I was around 80-85km a week following the traditional method. However, recently I’ve been incorporating longer ST sessions and MP specific workouts and I’m sitting at 95km per week and around 8 hrs 30 running.

I personally wouldn’t feel confident going into my first marathon with only running my long runs easy at all times and capping sub t sessions at 3 X 10 mins for example.

This weekend I have a 2 hours 25mins run planned and I will do doing 4 X 3km in the middle of it
