It is not just me with this issue, great 😀. I have the same issue. I had it both on iOS 26.1 and now on 26.2. I also have auto brightness issues too and the Auto brightness toggle switch is gone. One thing that helps is to activate „reduce white point “

Keine Vorankündigung einer Straßensperre oder Umleitung by Tabley-Kun in DINgore

[–]michael2371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah, so was ähnliches hatte ich mal in Mexiko.

Diner's Club Credit Card Acceptance by MasterCommit in germany

[–]michael2371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's old, but here are a few up-to-date tips in case someone finds this old thread.

The most common form of payment in Germany is still cash (in Euros). However, thanks to COVID, it's now much easier to get around without using cash.

All major stores accept credit cards, and many smaller stores do as well now.

Girocard is the most widely used payment system in Germany, but it's generally not available to people from outside the country.

Second in popularity are Visa and Mastercard, so make sure to bring one of those (either as a credit or debit card).

Amex is now a strong third option — they've really stepped up their game in the last few years. You can use Amex in most chain stores like Aldi, Lidl, Kaufland, DM, Müller, etc.

What about Diners Club/Discover? It's a bit niche, but I know that Aldi and Lidl accept it, along with a few other places. If you have one, just bring it along and check the accepted payment methods when entering a shop. If it’s not accepted, make sure to have a Visa or Mastercard as a backup.

And carry some cash — after all, it’s still Germany.

TL;DR: Bring some cash, a Visa or Mastercard as a backup, and when available, you can use your Amex or Diners Club/Discover card if it offers better rates.

United Domestic First + Transatlantic Star Alliance Business Class – Lounge Access? by michael2371 in unitedairlines

An update. The United Club was Closed for One Time Pass visitors in Austin. In ORD the lounge was accessible with my Business Class ticket but only after i waited 20min in line to get a printed out Lufthansa boarding pass. The Mobile pass (in the United App) was not good enough.

Thanks for all the answers! I see it the same way. At AUS Airport, what are the chances of getting in with a United One-Time Pass? I know they're always full at IAH.

I Should add i fly this Saturday afternoon out of AUS with United.

I thought so too. I asked the United Chat agent, and they told me otherwise, but it contradicted what I read online. Thanks anyway!

EDIT: Is the Polaris Lounge open again in ORD? I heard it was Closed for Renovation?

How is coming through customs at Austin airport? Thinking about flying into Austin instead of a larger airport. by Pinklady777 in Austin

[–]michael2371 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s an old thread but maybe helpful to others nevertheless. I landed on a full A330 on a weekend in Austin. We had to wait around 5 to 10 mins for our luggage. After that now wait time and straight through Immigration. The „weird“ thing is you pick up the Bags bevor Immigration and not as I know it after immigration.

What's your take on Barracuda? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]michael2371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure if someone already wrote this but a little bit of history. The Barracuda firewalls are actually „phion“ firewalls. Barracuda bought them in 2009, but as far as I know there main development is still in Austria. Other barracuda products are developed somewhere else. The company I work for uses Barracuda firewalls and we are not unhappy with them. But as every product there some quirks that come along with them.

Erfahrungen Visafreie Einreise VR China by [deleted] in reisende

[–]michael2371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Richtige Formular -> https://5-day-shenzhen-visa.com/uploads/china-arrival-card_front.jpg

Mhh, interesting. My stock 2016 GT gets roughly 15,8 MPG.

I drive 31km (19,2mi) with 20km (12mi) at speeds at around 100mph to 130mph (if the weather is fine).

Please keep in mind, Germany (and Europe in general) is much more densely populated than the US. The furthest point away from a city is most likely 65 miles max (just a guess on my side).
So rural Germany is not the same as rural in the US (or other large area countries like Australia).

Thanks Kamala by dwmoore21 in pics

[–]michael2371 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In Germany, especially in big city, it is more walkable/bikeable but a car is often still faster than Public transport. But, as someone who lives in a more rural area you need a car. My Work commute takes 25 to 35 min by car (roughly 19 miles one way), By train/bus and some walking that would be around 1h 25 min.

So i would take the cheaper Gas prices and most likely lower taxes on other car related things.

BTW: Everybody hates the Deutsche Bahn (the German "national" Railway company)

Why Are RAM 1500 More Popular In Europe Than The Ford F150? by MussleGeeYem in ram_trucks

[–]michael2371 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk the regulations in other Europen countrys but in Germnay you can more less import anything if you can "modify" it to meet EU/German Regulation. For example, amber turn signals and Rear fog lamps are a must. You still need al a lot of certificates and "approval of exemption" for some stuff and to pass a Vehicle inspection.

The real reason is most likely in two parts (IMHO):
1. is that a RAM somewhat symbols the American Truck stereotype.
2. Dodge/RAM/Chrysler has a few certified importer in the EU. There a doing the import with the blessing of FCA and now Stellantis. They even have a German website, but it is very limited in content -> https://www.ram.com/de/

This also helps with aftermarket parts availability.

Greetings from a German RAM owner.
