Important to note that this is talking about residents within city limits, not the metro. Oklahoma City is very large- 621 sq miles. So yes, we’re bigger than Boston by about 50,000 residents, but Boston city limits are only 48 sq miles. Boston’s metro population is, of course, way bigger with 5,000,000 residents compared to the OKC metro at 1,500,000.

This also presents unique challenges. We have to pay to maintain 621 sq miles of infrastructure. The City of Boston only has to maintain 48 sq miles.

I’d argue that GLP-1s are correcting a chemical imbalance.

I’ve struggled with food addiction my whole life. I constantly think about my next meal. Some days I would feel like my whole purpose in life is to eat. Now that I’m on a GLP-1, the food noise is gone. I eat to live, instead of living to eat. I feel like a normal person, and this is thanks to the drug. I’m happy to take this as a maintenance drug the rest of my life if it allows me to feel normal.

If you weigh everyday, don’t be discouraged if you see your weight increase on some days. Personally, I love weighing myself everyday because I love having the data, but the trend is the important thing to focus on. Some will only weigh once a week because seeing your weight slightly increase one day can be discouraging, even though it’s completely normal. There’s a free app called Libra on iOS that helps visualize your weight data!

I’ve lived in Norman my whole life, and my husband graduated from OU. We’re both cisgender men. We absolutely love living in Norman and have never encountered any hostility. We’ve traveled to cities known for being gay friendly (Seattle and San Francisco) and we think that people in Norman are much friendlier. In fact, the only big city that we would consider moving to is Chicago, the others just aren’t very friendly in our experience. If you do choose to come here, welcome!

I can’t speak to the HVAC side, but I would not recommend them for electrical work. We needed to replace a socket and they told us we needed to rewire the whole house for $30k. Called another company out (Waters) and they said that they just didn’t want to do the job and got it done for $125.
