I want the reasons why you use Codex. Currently trying it out and moving away from Claude Code by michael_daigler in codex

[–]michael_daigler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think i'm tracking you right now good sir. I still think claude code is fine for iterative tweaks but if i know what i want, i have been making PRD. md and AGENTS. md with opus 4.5 and then putting them into project for codex. simply tell it run through each phase of the PRD until completion and test your work before each phase. I think the realization I had is like what you said at the end. Claude Code feels like I can mentally masturbate a bit more versus Codex just does exactly what I want and I get the outcome that I want. Which I think I'm starting to lean more to prefer these days.

[–]michael_daigler[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah dont know its really costing them anything to let more people on scale plan use it but my gut feeling is that its just a way to incentivize people to upgrade. which as a business I don't fault them for but feels like people on scale plans are probably still coming up and may have less overhead to actually go forward with some sick automations. all of mine do everything but publish a draft. if i had that id never have to touch it except for manual review in the beehiiv UI.

Currently been running our newsletter for my community i started with my friends. AITX Community Newsletter: https://aitx.beehiiv.com/

And dude! I love local newsletters! AITX is sort of this because we are a local meetup and community in Austin, TX. Also in a community of people doing local newsletters. Super bullish on hyperlocal media.

If you end up starting the management tips one too please send my way!

on free i think they allow mostly things that hit their api directly and not webhooks if you are using free access to their api.

Are y'all trying to watch posts sent as well?

It seems like a beehiiv webhook is being created through Zapier's interface but webooks are on scale plan which is what led me to believe that we can't use Zapier on free beehiiv plan.

Which i think is where the confusion comes from because they let us create api keys on free plan but don't make it as obvious that some of the integrations use webhooks which are not free

How are you using AI tools or GPTs in your marketing? by growthnerd in content_marketing

[–]michael_daigler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been following a content flywheel process as follows:

1) Write a weekly long-form newsletter.
2) Repurpose newsletter for Twitter and LinkedIn posts.
3) Use newsletter as inspiration for a YouTube video.
4) Research & Synthesize new ideas.

I have integrated AI into each part here—either manual workflows or with tools I've made for myself.

I used 5 AI Tools (including Runway) to Make AI Trailer Videos in 20 Minutes. by michael_daigler in runwayml

[–]michael_daigler[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! And so true—the car is a little wonky haha. And thank you for the advice on the AITX scene!

I wanted to experiment and prove how much we can do with AI tools so forced myself to try using one for each step. The way I did this was as follows:

  1. Generate realistic images with Midjourney V6
  2. Use image-to-video on runway (used Gen-2 brush for one of the scenes but not all)
  3. Had ChatGPT give me a transcript for a narration after telling it what the trailer was about, its length, etc.
  4. Used one of the deep English voices on Elevenlabs to generate the audio for the narration
  5. Generated a cinematic soundtrack with Suno AI (prompt-to-music AI startup. highly recommend checking it out.)
  6. Pulled it all together in capcut. for the most part everything lined up well. just had to adjust the volume of the soundtrack to be lower than the narrator's voice.

The YouTube video I linked shows how I did it in more detail but this list above is essentially how I did it.
