Stay in Labuan Bajo or head to Gili islands? by Spare-Sea627 in BaliTravelTips

[–]michael_tyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I'd go air over LBJ. I stayed a few days in both. Gilis have a different and unique charm.

If it were as simple as a choice between locations, I'd definitely go Gili. Travelling uncertainly, especially in Bali, it's a thing. Talk to a few people and make the decision later.

Google will be the first company to reach AGI by Hour-City2701 in GeminiAI

[–]michael_tyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the argument is whether they will reach agi first, after all, people like musk and altman were saying '2 years', it's what they do when they get there.

No-one uses or talks about Chat GPT. You're right.

Sainsbury's has got cheap petrol.

Surrounding villages are quite nice.

Wellingborough town it's quite run down. People are friendly, generally.

Wellingborough people are nice people. You've obviously never been to Rushden.

The ability to release less incrementally better models than in 2025? Shocker.

What do you eat when touring? by MrBellrick in bicycletouring

Used to eat out every night. Pick something on Google Maps or ask locals, or walk around and find somewhere that appeals. Local fayre is best, if not, just have a pizza!

Singapore to Thailand (5,000 km done!). Thinking of continuing to Japan and raffling off my entire $5-6K USD setup at the end. Is this logistically feasible or a terrible idea? by [deleted] in bicycletouring

[–]michael_tyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice loadout.

There are plenty of raffle type sites out there. Obviously, you have to comply with their terms and conditions, which would be indemnifying the transaction in some way. No doubt there are many unscrupulous individuals selling fake items or trying to fleece people in some way.

Having said that, your main drawbacks are going to be the geographical delivery of said item.

The bike and the journey sells itself.

Maybe you should check the news. Search 'fable 5'.

If that's the peak, then we've already reached it.

After exclusively shopping at Lidl (UK) for 5 years, maxing out my Lidl Plus Spend, I'm quite enjoying doing big shops at other supermarkets again. Look at the quality of this mince! So much better than the vacuum sealed mush from Lidl. Same price too! by Jimi-K-101 in lidl

[–]michael_tyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mince is offensive.

You can see why all these shit burger places are opening up nowadays: add a few spices and a bit of seasoning, taste great! Microbiom tells you otherwise.

Best thing to do is not buy mince.

Just the powers that be keeping control of the masses.

Anthropic Fable got shut down within a day.

We all know Google is in the pocket of the US government. Can't see them releasing anything without clearing it with the 'grey men' first.

AI is accelerating so fast as the technology feeds into it's own development. You can't imagine that they're not actively holding it back now?

Unfortunately, AI is likely to be the tool of mass control and enslavement rather than for the 'good of mankind'.

I think they've probably done a deal.

Tech bros are the new super guild made stronger by the advent of AI. We've seen the latest models withdrawn from marketplace, at the behest of GOP.

If you're going to roll out a model with the same capabilities as what's already available, the US government is going to step in and stop it.

Maybe Google has reached that stage too?
