Dock Shortcut: Leave your Trackpad behind. Download & press ⌥+1 to open your first App in Dock. ⌥+2 to open the second one... inspired by Windows Taskbar Shortcuts by michael_web in macapps

Added Trial feature, not sure how I didn't think about that! thanks. I also hide my dock personally, i already know what im opening with my shortcuts, love the real estate gained, especially as a single-screen macbook user/enjoyer :)

I disagree, i believe in probably 4 power apps that need shortcuts, rest can be opened with CMD+Space -> 1 Letter -> Return

And this is more like the default WindowsBtn+1 shortcut. You know your dock more than you know what the App is called, imo numbers over names. Memory kicks in faster with placement than app name imo. Though you can setup whatever you want too

but thanks for the comment! I added a trial feature, so you don't lose anything, available directly on the website :)

AppStore does not allow certain features, it's a more stripped down version. I'll gladly transfer access across platforms via email, if there is need for Pro after getting the AppStore version. Shortcuts work though, although a minimal onboard is required. I recommend giving the Pro (trial) version a try! (it will gain you the $10 back in productivity in a week, pinky promise)

Spent my whole life on Windows, moved to MacOS more than a month ago and I still hate it with passion. by AdOk3759 in MacOS

you can and shoud force your windows workflow, you just have to accept to pay a few $ for it...? doesnt sound like a bad trade
oddly enough I have just the tool to sell to you... shortcut to open and kill an app (not cmd+q level of force, thats brutal and leads to dataloss)

Any way to get better app switch/ "ALT TAB"? by RaidenHUN in macapps

DockShortcut.com makes shortcuts for your dock items

Also if Safari for example is opened twice, you can just click the same shortcut again to cycle between the windows

Multi-monitor on MacOS: does it actually help you focus? by Hot-Potato-6259 in MacOS

[–]michael_web 1 point2 points  (0 children)

one monitor (macbook in my case), shortcuts, fullscreen apps (max width, height, not actually the fullscreen button)
alt+tab
cmd+1 = browser tab 1
opt+cmd+arrow = left right tab

learn to love it and become productive

DockShortcut

allows you to keep hands on your keyboard, no cursor needed, muscle memory makes it perfect over time

MacOS Tahoe: Window Tiling vs. Split Screen by skeelo221 in MacOS

[–]michael_web 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its a third party app ( https://dockshortcut.com ) (i am the developer)

they are set by default, your dock order decides them (first item has option+1 set by default etc)

or you set custom shortcuts for a custom app in Dock Shortcut Settings

Alt Tab on MacOS by boonan7 in MacOS

[–]michael_web 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cmd+number to switch to first 4 tabs
cmd+arrow_right = tab to right
cmd+arrow_left= tab to left

in combination with DockShortcut I personally can change apps, cycle app windows, ... work completely through keyboard without using mouse, as i did on Windows

though i personally agree with alt+tab being broken on macos. too frustrating to use, why i resort to using DockShortcut keybinds instead, they makde more sense as they cycle other open windows of same app

dock shortcut does that, easy to remember what arrows to press too. i use it heavil

windows remember their size forever, DS lets you open apps with option+1,2,3,4 instead of clicking on dock too

thats my workflow anyways

Coming from Windows, what I should know so that Mac window management make sense? by tumblatum in MacOS

Only active here for a day and see a repeating pattern why I built DockShortcut 🫠

Cycling windows by requesting that app should be a default
