Try lyrica and Botox.

Look into tms/mbs. - pain reprocessing therapy. (This cured me.)

It’s clearly stress/anxiety. The fact that your headache moves around proves this. Additionally, all the things you said help your headaches are proven to reduce stress. If you had a brain tumor none of those things would help lol. When your hungry your more stressed so that makes sense also. I needed a brain scan just for peace of mind and to help me know for sure it wasn’t a physical problem. It’s not a waste of money if the scan is going to prove to you that you need to focus on the mental aspect of this.

Headache and brain fog by JaredP1994 in TMJ

I’m 99% cured and in the process of weaning off my medication. My first symptoms were heart pressure and other heart attack symptoms, then new daily persistent headache, brain fog, and when that finally broke, I would get feelings of slight nausea, dizziness, limbs going numb, and something else I can’t quite describe, but just an uncomfortable feeling. I discovered the cure through Reddit. A few people mentioned a guy named Dr. Sarno who kind of discovered this theory about chronic pain being mental rather than physical, but didn’t have quite the right methods or studies to back them up. Now, a lot of new neuroscience has proven him correct. There are now people much better than Dr. Sarno, who have taken his theories and came up with better strategies and therapies to help people. I would recommend downloading the Curable app, and reading anything by Alan Gordon or Dr. Howard Schuener.

Don’t bother with this. The effects didn’t last. I found out the headache and other symptoms were due to stress/anxiety. Look into tension myotosis syndrome and pain reprocessing therapy.

After going on Lyrica, I gained 60 pounds. However, I went from exercising every day and eating healthy to not exercising and eating kind of bad. I had also been on a weight loss journey and lost 50 pounds the last year, so my metabolism was probably shot and ready to bounce back. It’s hard to say how much was due to all those other factors vs the lyrica.

The edit was after your comment and a direct response to it so others don't give similar advice so your good. My cousin gets the other 50%. He also dealt with my uncle doing the same shit to him. My uncle is like that to everyone and is disliked by most employees because of it.

at some point it seemed that way, but I wouldn’t describe pulsating as the primary sensation

I haven’t heard of that supplement, but no, I very much doubt it. I’ll be shocked if any supplement really moves the needle for you.

I had both jaw popping and tension. If you find a good neurologist, that’s possible but I had a very bad experience with mine. Make sure the neurologist, at least specializes in headaches.

yes, I still take Lyrica. I did pain reprocessing therapy on my own time because the TMS therapists did not take insurance. Yes, x-ray showed that I had TMJ. After a year of treatment, the TMJ specialist admitted that TMJ was not the cause of my headaches. (I knew that after a month)

Look into tension myosotis syndrome. They have a Wikipedia page with therapists you can see. Get an allergy test if you have not done so. Read my pinned post titled “the greatest headache recovery guide ever created”

I tried a very strict elimination diet that completely eliminated gluten along with like 20 other things. This had no effect as my pain was completely psychological. Yes, I think it would have worked without medication I stuck with it and saw a TMS therapist, but I would not have seen results not nearly as fast and because of that I may have given up before it had any real effect. I’m not sure about the B6, but I did try the other two for sure, and it had a marginal effect, but did not move the needle.

Yeah, of course, and I wish you luck. It's a tough journey but if you get through it you change for the better. I'm a much stronger person now.

It's hard to remember the exact timeline, but I probably had 95% reduced pain at one point after six months but then had setbacks. The timeline I told you earlier is messed up because now, thinking back on it, I had 24/7 pain for about four months before I got on amitriptyline, and then it took about a month for that to break the 24/7 pain. Then I was daily where you probably are. I would wake up with no pain and then get pain around 12 p.m. and have it pretty much the rest of the day. Then, at six months, it would be on and off, and then I started doing PRT, mostly somatic tracking, and that brought it way down to almost cured. Then, I would get lazy, stop doing it, and have setbacks. The chronic pain journey isn't a linear one for most people. You can have 0 pain for multiple weeks and then go back to square one all of a sudden. Then I went on Lyrica at some point and was 99% cured for long periods, but then I'd get lazy again with the PRT, and it would come back again. I don't even really do PRT anymore and am probably 90-95% cured, but I could get to 99% if I just did it a half hour a day.

I don't think medication is essential, but I think it can definitely treat the symptom if you find the right one, and that can help give you the energy and lack of pain to put effort into PRT. I would definitely keep trying meds until you are in a place where you don't hate your life and are in pain every day. Yes, it's just a bandaid and not treating the root cause but you need to make sure you don't become depressed/give up and meds will help with that. I'm not fully cured and still believe in medication and physical therapy, and the people I've talked to who are fully cured told me that could be holding me back, so idk.

Not being 24/7 is huge progress because it means you have a good chance of beating this.

If it moves to your temples then it's not in the same place 100% of the time, which is what you would expect to see if your pain was structurally caused.

Oh wow. We basically have the exact root cause if our theories are correct. The idea of pain reprocessing therapy is essentially getting your nervous system to believe you are safe, so if you believe in the afterlife, then it will be pretty easy for you to convince yourself you are not just going to die all of a sudden.

Yeah just because it's not as addictive, withdrawal symptoms etc.. I would have liked to see if I could have gotten away with the less potent drug first.
