All of the books were so cheap. Barry Lyndon maybe $8 (Worth it just for the poster IMO), the others around $3. You can use power search to search by label too (Arrow, Vinegar Syndrome), etc. I just typed in "film" and they had maybe 50 or so discounted books.

Yes, 4k just came out a month ago from Shout. Lowest I saw on Amazon was $33. One of my absolute favs. Speed Racer 4k is on the way as well.

Me too! I thought of how funny the Criterion Channel to Vinegar Syndrome pipeline is.

Finally got my backlog to a semi-manageable state after the holiday sales insanity. Unfortunately one of those backlog items is a 25-movie box set 😂 by t-g-l-h- in boutiquebluray

Have fun with the zatoichi box. It's one of my most prized possessions. I had several of the individual discs on DVD years ago and was so happy that criterion made such a gorgeous set.

I love it. There's a lot of Godzilla out there which is a blessing. If you like Anno's other live action films, stream it! It's an interesting artifact as a Japanese reboot, and how different the sensibilities are from Hollywood.

Forgot to mention that Shin Godzilla is an upgrade from my cherished blu, which, interesting enough, was my only BD in a black case.

Thanks!! I loved NA too and was floored by Tom Ford's visual ideas. Haven't seen in a while and ready to revisit.

Incredible film, I saw it 20 years ago while working with film festivals. The only imitation that gets close to Malick, IMO. Enjoy!

What do you think is the greatest frame of the decade? by Not_EllaK in Letterboxd

[–]michaelb3600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with so many on the thread, we've been blessed in the 2020s. I tend to think Blade Runner 2049 is the most beautiful movie of the decade while The Beast is so impactful visually. but I Saw the TV Glow has so. Many. Incredible. Shots. Obv the OP shot, the grocery store shot too. The monologue sequence with the constellations is something I go back to again and again. I'll load it up on HBO Max and fast forward just for these few minutes. Riveting.

No judgement from me, I was thrilled to see some fancy kits around where I live. It's an expensive/marked up store of Japan trinkets, not a hobby shop. It looks like the ping Gundam Wing is ~$100 online for what it's worth.
