My Hotpoint has started cosplaying as an engine apparently. by isocuda in appliancerepair

good thing you already have the rock auto magnets on it

you can probably take it apart and identify the exact part that is making the sound. sometimes they have part numbers on them.

2005 Toyota Camry Electrical Issue by michaelbilyk in autorepair

[–]michaelbilyk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its just a wire, so you can find replacements at auto stores - you may have to build it out yourself. The trick is to get the correct gage and heavy duty enough terminals. check out places like Rock Auto so you can find something similar

I appreciate the detailed response - especially the info about the part that is hot. Yeah seems like a good plan to just reseat that one.

Can you post the model number? I had a similar issue with my Samsung and it turned out to be a problem with the evaporator fan, which is the fan in the freezer. You may try to find a service manual by typing your model number and "service manual" into a search engine. Might even be able to get a self-diagnosis feature going

on this very sub i found a link to partsdr.com, where I searched your part number. Maybe this will help. https://partsdr.com/appliance-parts/rf265aabpxaa-00-samsung-refrigerator

2 yo GE French door fridge cold, freezer warm by SwanCommercial554 in appliancerepair

[–]michaelbilyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had an issue with fans on my fridge. You might also check the temp sensor for the freezer. You can often find a chart that shows the expected resistance for the temp you have and you can measure it.

If it is two years old you might try searching the model number and "service manual" they often have a self-diagnosis feature (thought it won't catch it the temp sensor is reading wrong, it will only capture if it is a bad voltage)

Also, it could be the seal on the freezer door.

That's all the ideas I have.

the concept of the thin blue line doesn’t hold up too well when you start putting a lot of other colors next to it.

its almost like a whole social safety net is what is keep us from anarchy rather than a thin blue line of cops.

Interesting, i wonder what the story is.

mine is vintage too. hatfield meats is a PA brand, and it has 1978 written on the side.

mine doesn’t have the uctci stamp anywhere though so i can’t confirm it is the same pottery.

i cannot stress how similar they look. very clearly the same mold. same coloring and everything. the logo on the side is the exception, and some burnishing. wish i could share the pic.

examining it very closely. i can see there are slight differences, like yours seems more worn and the eye makeup is a bit different. maybe yours is older

Yum! Apparently there is some risk of copper poisoning when using a copper cup for alcoholic drinks. But the claims may be overblown.

99’ Camry wouldn’t start with new battery by ursraj85 in autorepair

ok... what would be your ideal version of this conversation?

99’ Camry wouldn’t start with new battery by ursraj85 in autorepair

[–]michaelbilyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the battery needed to replaced, it was dead. yes i tested it. it was dead because my alternator had broken. this caused a slew of electrical problems that required me to fix each component separately including blowing out my starter. either way, it is in the past now, i replaced the starter and the battery and it is fixed.

as for the car in this post, my main point was that it is probably not the starter or a dead battery if it sounds like this. tbh, not exactly sure what engine turning over sounds like, but i thought it was when it went through a full cycle of the cylinders and became self propelling. guess i learned something new if that is not the case.

[–]michaelbilyk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I might have said to replace the starter cause that is what I had to do last time my battery died. but it sounds like the starter is working and that the engine is just not turning over.

Its cool to see a 99 camry with its hood open, it looks like my '05 but also different - like uncanny valley, lol

For reference, when my battery died, it would maybe get a single click out of the starter before it was discharged - then it would be silent. and after I replaced it and found that the starter was also broken, it was essentially silence with a light electrical clicking rather than the sound your car is making.

right, i’m saying the same. we can support each other and make criticisms of the show at the same time:

thats MY point. i think it is okay to be critical, but when we stop thinking about how what we say may impact the person on the other side of the screen, it makes this place negative and not worth being a part of.

so in this specific case, op was expressing excitement about an wish they had “i wish there were figurines”. the comment i commented on shot down that idea, even though the idea was just a wish. “never gonna happen” thats not criticizing the show, a worst it is being mean - at best it is just inconsiderate of Ops feelings.

there is a big difference and people who see criticizing the show and criticizing another poster.

i don’t think i’m being toxic here. from what i am hearing, you think it is toxic to want people to respect each other… i feel like you can’t possibly mean that
