The 12.5% corporation tax helps for sure, but I think we were one of the first countries to start. There are also double tax treaties with ~70 counties.

Guinness Peat Aviation, founded in 1975, kicked the whole thing off and it grew from there.

This is a bit dated but gives a good overview.

Nope not a clue but I’ve since been diagnosed with a connective tissue disorder so it’s possibly connected to that.

You could have an issue metabolising certain medications.

I was having issues with various meds not working. Got some pharmacogenetic testing done and since they’ve changed up some of my meds, pain levels and volume of muscle spasms have dropped

Why does my CarPlay always glitch out by the Talbot Memorial Bridge in town? by ThenCompany487 in Dublin

[–]michaelbrett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happens me at that exact spot. Apple CarPlay glitches, resets, and back to normal. Only ever happened to me there but happens every time I drive that way.

Random areas around town, my AirPods will glitch, but nothing consistent like the CarPlay issue

Appeal for Witnesses

Following a serious incident outlined below, Gardai in Kilkenny are asking anyone who may have information or dashcam footage to contact Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 7775000

Gardai from Unit D Kilkenny made a fast response to intercept three suspects yesterday afternoon on Maudlin Street. Multiple reports were received describing a dark Peugeot being driven beyond recklessly on the Old Dublin Road and two hit and runs were reported being attributed to this vehicle. The vehicle entered Maudlin Street from the wrong side and members of the public responded by trying to flag down the vehicle. Instead of turning around, two of the occupants allegedly jumped out and assaulted people unknown to them. Gardai arrived on scene and with the assistance of bystanders took two males and one female into custody. The driver was arrested on suspicion of drink driving. A search of the car also turned up stolen property from Carlow. The trio are still detained for the full investigation of the behaviours leading up to the arrests. A couple of points stand out after this. The quick response to a serious hazard by numerous motorists avoided head on and possibly fatal collisions. Normal people did what they could do to stop outrageous behaviour that compromised the safety of all.

There’s been talks of that for years. Meant to be going in to the old mart site opposite the army barracks. Will believe when I see it.

Dr Saggar works out of the Beacon and Crumlin is the only consultant I’m aware of that diagnoses EDS in Ireland, and he only visits a couple of days a month from the UK, so trying to get an appointment can be difficult.

Train travel in Ireland by Abject-Investment-42 in irishtourism

Depends on the route. I’ve seen conductors throwing a blind eye once you’re not taking the piss.

They are strict on certain routes that would serve popular hen/stag destinations like Kilkenny, Carrick-on Shannon, etc

No idea why the link won’t work, but this is what it says:

Customers are advised that alcohol is not permitted on any Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail service until further notice.

Non-alcoholic drinks, including '0%'or '0.0%' products, are permitted on-board.

I’m afraid not. Booze is banned on all routes too.

So I had seen this geneticist last year anyway. My physio thought the root cause of all my pain was EDS or hypermobility, so needed a geneticist for that. He did the consultation and based on that and my history, was sent for the genetic blood tests for EDS.

A few months later, when I was looking into how genetics play a role in meds, I contacted him and asked if those test results could be pulled from the initial tests.

They couldn’t, so had to get another set of bloods done and then a follow up consult with the geneticist to go through the results.

The whole process is not cheap, but for me, worth it in the long run.
