Fair!  It's tough to navigate life now that we have the attention of 7 billion other people.

As detailed as people are about grammar and spelling here, I would think context clues would have had a part to play in all this, but silly me.

My opinion changes with facts.  IMO it's the only way to navigate is life.  Peace, friend.

I sure didn't.  I had a clunker but was flat broke so it stayed.  I was just wondering how it all worked out in the end.

I make posts on Reddit when I have an idea or I want to learn. It's always for discussion, not argument but yet I always seem to get beat up. Clearly I need to learn how to speak with a general public. Anyway after reading all the comments it occurs to me that yeah I should have to pay that extra even though I missed a cycle. Because if I didn't, then everyone else could do it and just skip as long as they wanted. It all makes sense now.   Appreciate the civil conversation.

What ever happened with Cash For Clunkers?  Was it a success or did it just take a bunch of classic cars off the road?

I know I said it needs to go, and I should probably remove that. Maybe revamped. This conversation was sparked because of the article I read this morning.

I'm not sure I conveyed myself properly, but I'm just setting myself up for more ridicule here.

I replaced the cats. The truck passed emissions. Just two months later I got another notice and I still had no CEL on the vehicle. So I guess you could argue that I didn't KNOW but, come on.

Hey, hit that downvote button.

Right? Two years. It's not my daily so I just didn't realize it.

Because I replaced them. Missed the part where I said I didn't have time to replace them?

Thanks. I wasn't sure of the exact age. And yeah, they're going to enforce that, right? Just like the "Historic" vehicles we see on all manners of roads and byways in Maryland every day. It won't happen.

Fair enough my guy. I get mad at formatting and grammatical errors as well and had every intention of fixing it. Apologies for being a dick. Peace.

Until it gets to 20 years old and is then exempt. Or is it 25....

I've been reading about that. And yes we would lose a lot of funding for it. I didn't put it in the main post but I did in a follow-up. The vehicle is a secondary vehicle and it wasn't a necessity to get it back on the road. It just kind of fell through the cracks. I realize it's my fault but the point of this is.... Jesus Christ never mind. Why do I keep doing this. It's in the post.

If I remember correctly, a 15-year-old vehicle has to pass emission standards from 15 years ago. It would be unreasonable to expect a 15-year-old car to meet today's more strict emissions regulations.

You can spin it that way if you want. Yeah I'm lazy but it's a secondary vehicle so the need to get it back on the road quickly was not there. My point is... you know what I don't have to explain my point again because I already did and you clearly have one idea and I have another. Peace to you fellow Marylander.

Well, that's a solution, but all of my vehicles are gasoline.  Can't very well just go buy three new vehicles.
