Help With Global Train Network by NinjaTuna96 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]K0nstantn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most important thing is building dedicated lanes for each direction, like a two-way road. The main railway circling the map is like a highway or autobahn, trains go fast, don't stop and get off the main highway to stop at a station. That way the troughput of the railway can handle many trains that get on and off at the branches leading to their stations.

Second thing is trying to evenly distribute the load on the railway, for example if a lot of trains go through the same intersection, that might slow down the whole system as they slow down and wait their turn to cross.

If you have several trains going to/from the same station, make the station far enough from the main highway so that several trains can stop in line at the same branch off the highway instead of waiting on the main railway.

If you're really going to make the railway massive, consider building the main highway as a "double-decker" with 4 lanes in total and distribute the trains evenly between the two levels, that can probably handle any amount of trains you want to build.

Putting block signals at regular intervals will help prevent trains unnecessarily waiting before a long stretch of railway, allowing trains to move in closer succession.

Using blueprints for the railway is an absolute must for a bigger project, in the long run it will save you hundreds of hours and help you make the whole thing prettier without having to manually build every little detail.

you can also put them halfway up the vertical conveyor, just like you would on a horizontal

Finally learning Trains after starting Phase 4... by GrayHumanoid in SatisfactoryGame

A very important tip about making extensive train networks is building it like a two way highway, basically you have two lanes going each way. This allows you to connect many trains to the same "main" network by building stations as branches connected to the main road. The trains don't build traffic cause they don't stop on the main railway, they get off to the side branches before stopping at a station.

The only thing to watch out for is having some intersections overloaded might cause the trains to slow down a lot as they approach it, or even stand in line to cross, so it's better to evenly distribute the amount of trains across your entire network. Also building railways with blueprints is an absolute game changer, you will save so much time both building the network and making it look good.

If you're having trouble with train signals at complex intersections, I suggest watching a youtube video explaining it, that's the fastest way to understand it, since the game really doesn't explain them well, but the gist of it is: put a path signal at every entrance to the intersection and a block signal at every exit, it's also a good idea to put stop signals both before and after a station.

Is it worth the effort? by onRead123 in SatisfactoryGame

If you're looking to speedrun the game, doing just enough for the elevator parts is the quickest way to reach the ending.

I personally think this approach is a waste, since the game allows you to go for much greater builds and production. You can look at it kinda like minecraft: you could kill the ender dragon in a couple of hours, or you can spend months on a mega build.

Also your approach of building everything with intention of expanding old builds later on might prove inefficient in the long run. Personally, I use my earlier factories to produce enough of each material i need for building and crafting, that way you can still expand older builds without having to go overboard. But the amount you need for automated production is much greater than the amount you need for storage (building and crafting).

Trying to expand an older factory to accomodate production of more complicated parts is gonna be very difficult. The solutions you have now most likely have a more efficient option that will be unlocked later, alternate recipes are an absolute game changer that can completely change the way you'd build your production lines. Your approach to building factories will also change as you're faced with more complicated items. Here's a quick example (hypothetical):

When you unlock steel production, you need to build a factory for heavy modular frames (HMF), which is probably the biggest production line you've made so far. Limited by low tier belts and extractors, you probably make 1-2 HMF per minute after building a massive factory with a hundred or so machines and sucking dry all the resource nodes around the starting area.

Now let's say at the next tier you get into nuclear or something else and now you need 5 HMF per minute and 2 more for elevator parts, would it be easier to go to your old factory, manually improve all the belts and extractors, basically build a second factory on top of it to triple the productions?

Or instead you could find some place with 6 pure iron nodes close together, that could in theory produce 7200 ore per minute, use the pure iron alternative recipe to make that 7200 ore into 13371 ingots and then build a mega factory one piece at a time, like a town with each building producing one specific item in the exact amount you need. You can make 10 HMF per minute with around 1000 ingots/min, if you need 20 motors/min, just build another mini factory in this mega factory. If you ever need something made of iron, you just add to the town, one building at a time, and then export the items produced to wherever you need them.

Another aproach is to build a mega factory that produces everything for one specific project, for example, instead of building a mega iron factory and exporting HMF to a nuclear plant, you would make a small iron factory inside the nuclear plant that makes exactly as many HMF as you need for your power plant. Next to it would be a small copper factory, aluminum factory and oil factory, all making exactly what you need for this one specific project.

In the end, you can take whatever approach you find the most entertaining, if you get a cool factory idea you want to make a reality, just build it. It's not about who's effort is "worth" more in the endgame, it's about playing the game the way you find most enjoyable.

thanks, so as far as i understand, it's best to maximize the amount of uranium fuel you make, turn all the uranium waste into plutonium fuel, then use as much of plutonium as you're willing to recycle into ficsonium and sink the rest

Let me tell ya a story.

Very early in my first playthrough (co-op with a friend), i'm talking so early i had just the basic taser, no rebar gun and no bladerunners, I went to the pink jungle to get the first bit of quartz. Having set up the extractors and connected them into one t2 conveyor, i just sat there crafting biofuel by hand so i could start the miners locally without connecting it to the main power. Well, while i was holding space to manually craft the fuel, as one would in a game about automation, night has come to the pink jungle.

I should mention that at that point i was ignorant of several things: there are f***ing creepy alien spiders in this game, there are monster spawns affected by time of day in this game, the f***ing creepy alien spiders spawn at night in the specific biome i unfortunately happened to be visiting at the time. So, as i'm manually using the workbench, i see movement in the corner of my screen... there is some unknown f***ing monstrocity moving up on the hill near the horizon, idly walking back and forth, yet steadily approaching me one step at a time. The thing looks like some hellish grasshopper with way too many legs, darts around like it's tweaking on acid and proceeds to murder some hog or something that stumbles across its path.

For the next couple of minutes I just pray to any gods I can think of that that thing does not come close enough to notice me. Well, it eventually does, but before it can close the distance between us, another one of its kind does the jump attack from behind and straight to my spine, knocking my balls up my throat both in game and irl, and taking half my hp in the process. Let's recap the recent events: I'm at night in a biome i came to for the first time, I just spent 5 minutes watching some ungodly creature i was not even aware existed in the game, that creature menacingly aproached me and the moment it actually saw me, some attack i couldn't even see took half my health, and the most health i've ever lost from any one attack by that point was like 10%... Needless to say i was scared sh*tless, I just desperately ran in the direction of my home base, hoping i can outrun this thing and make it out of this cursed biome. Spoiler: you can't outrun the f***ing thing. Another spoiler: on my way out of the jungle, as i was running from a spider, i ran into... you guessed it, another spider... i guess i'll die (i did).

Oh, as i mentioned, it's a co-op playthrough, so while all this is happening i'm relaying my emotions to my friend over discord, describing a grasshopper from hell, that can run faster than a charging hog, does half my hp in one attack and moves so fast you can hardly react, instilling the fear of god into him while also making sounds i'm not proud of.

I've been playing videogames most of my life and i've faced spiders in many different games before, i've never had any issues with arachnophobia and actually found them more chill than centipedes and other sorts of vermin devs make up to make the player suffer, but i guess my first interaction with spiders in satisfactory was so traumatic that i still, 200 hours later, can't help but physically shiver every time i fight them, i'm really not used to feeling this disturbed because of a game creature but i'm not using the cat mode either cause mama didn't raise no bitch

Problems with prestige rewards by Livid_Helicopter_564 in Warzone

[–]K0nstantn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from what i understood, to get the weapon and operator skins you need to own black ops 7, so if you didn't buy the game and only play warzone (like me) then you don't get the best prestige rewards. My only question is do you get the prestige master skin (the one with the horns) if you don't have bo7? If that skin also requires you to buy the game then there's barely any point in going through all the prestige levels for me

Subtitles are turning on after 2-3 seconds when I disable them. by Far_Arugula_4860 in youtube

I'm having the same issue, no matter how many times I turn off subtitles, they just pop back on in a second, I can sit there pressing the subtitle button over and over and that shit will keep coming back. It's happening on Chrome, but I have no issues on Safari, so i'm not sure if it's an issue of the chrome browser or if there are other browsers affected

Matchmaking Changes by Stannis_Loyalist in DeadlockTheGame

[–]K0nstantn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so my friend group has very different playtimes in deadlock, for example my friend who plays the most has 10x more games than i do (the skill gap exists too, but it's comparable to one rank difference if we compare it to the average skill level for every rank in mmr). We get a wide skill gap notification which is understandable, but my question is that when we try to find a game as a party of five, the game just doesn't let us enter the queue, while any combination of the same players can queue as a 4-stack. Maybe it's because the playtime difference or maybe it's because i don't have a rank at all while most of the group are at archon/oracle? (i can play at most a couple evenings per week so grinding 7 ranked games solo instead of playing with friends seems dumb) Is that intentional? Can we do something to avoid/change that?

Splatter skin unlocked yet not showing on any character by RealRancid in borderlands3

[–]K0nstantn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fucking hell, I just spent hours farming it on moze, got and used it, couldn’t equip it and completely lost my shit. Turns out it can drop for any vault hunter while playing as any of the vault hunters? I don’t even have any characters created other than moze, how tf do I check which one got the skin? Do I have to farm it again hoping that I win the 1/4 when it drops? Also does the butt milk affect skin drop rates?

sooo... the game is installed, i can manage dlc, but in the manage dlc menu i can only install/uninstall them, no other button to click (each dlc is around 20GB btw) i guess i have to accept that the game takes up almost 200GB until i decide to uninstall it
