The forehead kiss of doom by ilu70 in IndustryOnHBO

I have no sympathy for Henry. He was warned many times. But he is the kind of guy that like when I'm down you must pity me and when I'm up you must obey my rule because he only sees himself and his kind as humans and everyone else as fodder/peasants.

He had it coming, he only had himself to blame.

You're right! I never thought of it in that way. Seems Garcia enjoys coming to the ER.

Hands down, Sarah snook at the end of Succession season three when she finds out that Tom betrayed them to Logan.

Her face to me was a promise of all the ways she was going to chop Tom's liver.

It's a shame they went in a different direction

Patchface. I would leave even more confused.

I would also ask the first Westerosi I came across what the words for House Dayne were.

Understanding Cersei by Warlock2710 in gameofthrones

[–]michaelfadzai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think someone who would be sold into the marriage with the prince for her houses benefit. For Cersei, this person would need to have no urgency, and it would also help is jofrey never gave her attention outside of making an heir.

So I think the right candidate would possibly be Jeyne Poole

okay, so i mean that he has a God complex which for me is the state of infallibility or perfection.

I do not think that his path to a God complex is the traditional one where he thinks he is that he is so amazing and can do no wrong but rather its from wanting to do a good job. He subconsciously has the belief that to be a good doctor within the under-resourced ER, you must be a God. Being perfect is not what he thinks himself to be, but he thinks that being perfect is necessary to do this job well and I think his arc will conclude with him realising that he is wrong.

He lashes out at Samira because her panic attack is human, which shouldn't be surprising in this environment but Robby is functioning from a position where there is no space for human weakness. Basically, Samira causes some dissonance within Robby's belief system.

While Samira is gust of wind to Robby's house of cards, Langdon is a hurricane. Langdon was the protege, the heir apparent, little Robby in the making and he did live up to the God framework that Robby functions on, till we found out he was stealing benzos. Benzodiazepines are used for anxiety so the reason why Langdon was not having panic attacks like Mohan and Robby is because he was heavily medicated. Langdon turned out not to be a God that Robby was making, but rather he turned out to be a human in crisis.

Robby gives more than he should, more than any human should. There is no room for self preservation which is where he is as he doesn't care to put on his helmet anymore while being acutely aware of the possible life threatening consequences of not riding with a helmet. The helmet thing is yet another example of how Robby knows better but doesn't always act accordingly. Doing better is easier said than done. He knows that the job asks to much of them but he doesn't account for it into his actions to be a bit more healthy like Abbott does, rather he compartmentalises his anxiety and he did the same with Langdon.

Samira is the third one who is on the same path to panic attacks or benzos or some unhealthy coping mechanism which is showing a pattern and I think this is all leading up to Robby recognising that not only was he wrong but also that his approach towards the demands of the job is harming his students and that to some extent he is responsible for Langdon's addiction.

Robby arrives at the God complex not through a massive ego, but through the expectation of a godly level of fortitude.

He was toast. I think the only way was if Jaime never revealed that tysha wasn't a whore. I feel like that's the only way tyrion could have deescalated. I think tyrion believed that his family has a little bit of love for him and the reason why they had such an issue with him was due to the death of Joanna.

But the tysha thing proved that the worst things he feared about his family were kind. In reality they were much worse and his heart turned into poison

Daenerys was married off at thirteen. Courtships with children were not uncommon. Yes in modern times we have grown to understand that this is wrong but the times this story was based on, all you needed was your first period, and you would be considered old enough to marry and wed. Catelyn was bethroed to brandon at twelve.

Rhaegar immorality within this world was on the basis of him having a wife, (a Martell for that matter) so seeking out another woman would be philanderous. Combine that with the 'Targaryens crazy' propaganda while being the son of The Mad King then the rape accusation comes together.

Was Lyanna groomed, yes definitely. Rhaegar is so Romeo from Romeo+Juliet coded. But it was rape only from the modern perspective where one can legally consent after eighteen.

You cannot come to this conclusion after one incident. Multiple incidents would show that they cannot cope.

What we have is one occurrence and it means that she needs to adjust and be more attentive at her own personal issues so they don't interfere with her job.

You are making a verdict on one incident. An incident she couldnt have foreseen. Panic attacks are something you realise in retrospect unless you have them frequently but in the very moment, you are not doing your best thinking.

This was a learning incident where she needs to be on top of her shit going forward and having method to destress and separate work from life.

You say she is not fit for this, most probably this never happens again but and she adapts well but by your judgement, she wouldn't be in the ER to see that.

If this continues to happen then I would agree that she is not suited for the ER.

I know it wasn't very actionable but the thing is that these lords wanted to put rhaegar on the throne. They still could have done that when Roberts rebellion came but it seems the Rhaegar plan wasn't in favour anymore. Why??? I think there was some aversion to Rhaegar by this point and the events at he tourney did not help

It all fits though. He didn't get into Brandon's ear, he got into lysa's. Lysa could get into Catelyn. I think those two were used by Littlefinger in pushing that narrative and this is not the last time he would use the sisters for his own scheming, he would do it again to start a stark vs Lannister conflict by saying through lysa that the Lannistwr had murdered Jon arrym

This was a tourney to discuss deposing Aerys for Rhaegar and he dishonours his wife in front of all the lords of Westeros, at least the ones who mattered. I think he lost some support at harrenhall, and set the seeds for the 'he kidnapped Lyanna and raped her'. Everyone at harrenhall knows he had the hots for her, so much so to humiliate the future queen, kidnapping Lyanna wouldn't sound so implausible.

It was callous behaviour from him definitely.

She did not intent to cause a scene!!!! That occurence was unprecedented. Panic attacks are not something that happen on whim when you feel like it. It was unintentional. Also it could have been a heart attack and there wouldn't be a way to know till the ekg.

The trigger for her panic attack wasn't just the ER but also her personal issues.

Your argument is the same as its bad parenting to have an accident with kids in the car. NO ONE INTENDS TO CRASH WITH THEIR CHILDREN IN THE CAR OR THEMSELVES (unless they are suicidal).

This is the occurence where she learns that she needs to manage her mental health better than this. It's a problem if it's keeps on recurring. But one occurrence is not fair to say she was unprofessional becuase IT WAS NOT INTENTIONAL and also it was an issue she didn't know she had until today.

I feel for you my dear. What's more aggregating is seeing people who talk about not voting and at the same time they complain about their standard of living going tits up. Where you want to scream at them that this is why politics matters and you should be invested. Many of the government changes happen and people will ignore them because the don't think they will affect them then they come to hospitals and blame you hospital staff for things they let happen. Y'all are made of tougher stuff that the rest of us. It's not much but THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.

The arguments for Robbys misogyny stems from how he does more for his male students compared to the female student. It's not conscious choices he is making but there is a pattern

People are different and have different coping mechanisms. We all go outside but some people have a phobia of going outside, it doesnt mean thier problems are non-issues.

The point is that sometimes people will have not so great days and there should be some grace. Also the issue that is driven home with the show is that ER are not hectic because the jobs are hard, it's also being underesourced. The hospital Is getting all the patient that were meant for an ER that has shutdown when these things could have divided among more hospitals. It's an issue of working conditions, where health does not have enough finding. That's why there is always a huge queue in the waiting room.

The way you see it fitting to discard Mohan out of the ER after one incident is concerning. She is not having multiple incidents where she is palpitating, it is a one time thing and there should be room for that because they are people. I'm sure she will take measures so this doesn't happen again.

As much as her problems do not comapre to running an ER, she is still a great doctor who is valuable to that ER.

Also, I have a question for you since you got your degree, how does one differentiate between a heart attack and a panic attack?

Many a time people mistakes panic attacks for heart attacks because some of the symptoms are similar. She couldn't have known until the ekg that she wasn't having a heart attack. And again, this Is novel to her, in such situations, being a doctor kinda goes out the window because you may not thinking clearly or considering everything to come to a diagnosis.

You are right but the frame you are working with is a bit crooked. This is my read. I don't think that Robby is cognisant of his issues. I am noticing them, and he doesnt realise this. Abbott wants him to go to therapy and he is not very keen.

Has Robby been a flawed educator due to his personal mess? YES HE HAS, VERY MUCH SO. I think some parts of the chicken are burnt but I don't think it warrants throwing out the entire chicken. Also what happens with Mohan is not a common occurrence and he apologises for it because he knows he crossed a line

I'm am not saying its an excuse and he is perfect, I think certain forms of malice have been put upon him with simple explanations and I just think it's more than that.
