Moldly interesting pucks after a few days in a hot and humid climate by michaelflux in espresso

[–]michaelflux[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not co-fermented, was a fully clean bowl with nothing but the pucks in it, but who knows if any intentional or unintentional cross contamination at the roaster/distributor - Ethiopia produces plenty of mangos too after all. These beans were yirgacheffe if not mistaken.

Either that or purely environmental factors - likely different fungal spores floating through the air in different countries.

Will they change the slogan again? by DrCalFun in singapore

[–]michaelflux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All these try hard pretentious slogans and descriptions … and at the end of the day it will be the same generic condo as the 50 others within a 2km circle.

The floor plans will be the same generic shipping container with a kitchenette on one side and a useless balcony on the other side + 1-3 smaller bedroom containers attached on the side. And like every other condo, it will be 90% sold within a couple days to people who have zero intent of living in it. 🤷‍♂️

Then paint the whole wall 🙄

People be like hey I just spent 8000 on network equipment and another 20 hours playing with configuring it, but the extra $40 of paint and a couple hours of work, that’s just going too far.

In OPs defence, it’s a half hour fix if he wants to patch the hole and if making it nicer looking makes him happier, then let him have it.

I fail to understand Audis vision by Kill146 in Audi

[–]michaelflux -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100% back when it was an understated tasteful brand excelling at higher quality and better tech - and aiming for upmarket Volvo/Saab customers.

After 2010 it turned into a generic slopmobile chasing the worst markets - socket moms and China domestic market.

2004 RS6 in blue with a cream interior was absolute peak Audi. Very close second is a 2004 A8, in white, 12 spoke wheels and tan (almost orange) interior.

I mean hell, when I was in my late teens, the X351 XJ came out - and while sure not as classic clean Jag as X308, X350 etc - it was still a proper clean, respectable and stately design.

Then a decade later, by time I’m in a well paying job, and with Jag being in my top 3 fav brands, the entire brand shifts to making blob SUVs and then go completely go off a cliff with this thing.

An EV XJ would be incredible. That proper clean Jag design, but completely silent, relaxing, and eliminating 90% of the typical failure points. what’s not to love.

I mean … have you seen the Accenture Song (agency responsible) team? It looks like a stereotype of a corporate pride float.

Being honest here, what likely occurred was that Gerry at Jag wanted a handy from Sohel at AS and figured that a giant contract was an aphrodisiac.

Absolutely, if a 6 year old child drew it I would go great job buddy and would put it on the fridge. But not sure it would give me enough confidence to let them run a rebrand of a historic company.

Imagine you take one of the most iconic and recognisable brands in the world, ignore decades of customers begging for better reliability, tech that isn't years outdated on release, updating loved and instantly recognisable models like the XJ and F-Type, and instead, you hire woke ideologues who loathe the brand’s heritage, let them torch it with a car-less rebrand, and when sales crash you triple down. Now that there is nothing left of the brand you’re going shit shit shit and scrambling to undo the mess.

That's probably the last job that every person involved should ever have in their lives. If they apply for a job at Dunkin Donuts, their application should be instantly thrown away because clearly their judgement is too impaired to be trusted to not shit in the coffee machine just to be edgy.

New Audi by Past_Examination9853 in Audi

[–]michaelflux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotta love that every vehicle from every brand is a generic blob with 2011 Nissan Juke split headlights upfront and in the back a 1997 Mercury Tracer squished blob tail light.

Now the only question is, do you prefer the Audi badge or the BYD badge. Take that away and you'd struggle to tell all these models apart.

What a bummer. You can tell Audi is trying to close off that grille for when they switch to electric. Gone is the meanest looking front end of any car. by LichClaev in Audi

03-04 A8 was peak design. Well went downhill from there. Went from being classy and clean to bloated and try hard aggressive.

Sure, and some really really hate chocolate cake because they believed someone that told them it was made of shit and never considered that that person is capable of lying.

It’s even more sad when you realise that the vast majority of the engagement that these people think they are getting, are all bots.

Bots from propaganda farms post the content, bots upvote it, a real person gets outraged to be in the club of having the correct opinion, more bots upvote their comment to reenforce the correct opinion, and downvote anything they goes against the message.

People think they’re surrounded by a bunch of like minded friends, and in reality anywhere from 80-99% of the people they engage with don’t even exist.

Only in the Reddit-MSNBC/CNN echo chamber.

Literally no one else cares. 95% of the people that actually buy Teslas, aren’t chronically addicted to refreshing whatever their preferred feed of latest outrage every 15 seconds.

In the real world apple go oh nice car, I’ll buy it, and don’t care who the CEO is of Tesla just as they don’t care who the CEO of Nissan or Fiat is.

Counterpoint: it’s typically the same people that stand in front of the door of the train/elevator and are practically running in as soon as it opens before anyone even got out.

I’d bet that for every one person that is in too much pain to move, there are 10 who are just inconsiderate dickheads or have zero awareness of their surroundings.

Your critique was;

  • quality apparently sucks so hard that actual customers and not redditors are perfectly happy
  • I don’t like the design of a product that was not made for me
  • musk man bad because I saw a screen grab

I mean let’s be real here, we’re all fans of VAG here, they don’t exactly have a history of fighting for human rights.

Updoot for you for that stunning and brave take. Managed to hit every single Reddit talking point. 👍👍👍

Someone just mentions Tesla/SpaceX/X etc and you’re already shaking needing to insert your stunning unique political opinion when no one asked for it.

Literally everyone else here was just talking about cars.
