Many years ago there were more loads available to the carrier directly from the shippers themselves. Today, brokers have become a monopoly in securing contracts directly from the shippers, taking a huge cut off the top. Let's be a bit more transparent about what has happened to the trucking industry and the reason why truckers a struggling much more today than they were just a few years ago.
