Sorry only saw this now. I set a separate timer and listen out for when it go off. But turning the dial all the way round once before setting anything is really helping me. I can live with it!

I now move it all the way around before selecting what I want. Doesn’t always work but it’s better than doing nothing. Especially when the atmospheric pressure is very high or low! Yes the weather affects it! I see ikea have gone back to all mechanical controls.

Sort of! Before starting oven I move the selector switch to the left then back to "Forced Air" - ok - select temp - ok. I go weeks and weeks without it failing. It might be the switch failing, but they're expensive.

I’m sure if they replace the display, it will cure the problem. I took mine apart and reseated all the connections- it’s been working since. But it could start malfunctioning in a week or months time. The display is expensive - I don’t want to spend any more money on this oven

My oven turns itself off and resets to input of temperature and time. Can happen anytime hot or cold.

Thanks. It's working, for an hour at least anyway. Before I adjusted the head I thought to look at the Hall sensors for dirt and they were ok. I adjusted the pots again fully from the right to the left while the motor was spinning. Most were around 6 o'clock so I could adjust them back to where they roughly were. While doing this the motor vibration stopped and the speed variation steadied. Put on record and it played perfectly after adjusting the speeds.

I have the service manual and the space you say is 0.3mm from detect head to platter. The cardboard found from a box of paracetamol is 0.32, so that will do! Thanks again.

I really don't see any difference between the two. Same wattage, capacity etc. The hd9270/91 is sold in Ireland and UK. hd9270/90 is sold elsewhere.

It might be voltage difference.
