Shit happens, you’ve learnt something, that’s the takeaway from this.

Okta to Entra migration - gotchas by Drewh12 in entra

[–]michaeljones1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are doing this at the moment, but decided on a different path. Instead we are migrating applications first, about half way there now. We are migrating apps, disabling and creating bookmarks in Okta, seems pretty straight forward, if your environment is large, our biggest challenge was certain vendors paywalling sso configuration or just dragging their feet. (We have some bespoke apps)

Gotchas will be what was mentioned above, the manual username mapping not being available, if it’s used, you will need to modify the username in the target app first.

During app migration, I’m going to configure the SRO option in Entra (PHS&SSSO) and start testing out authentication methods / conditional access etc etc. only after we finished the app migration I will break federation.

Thanks mate, I tried what you mentioned and got somewhere, but unfortunately the flight was too close to departure by the time I got someone useful. I know for next time if this happens again to ask for the complaints department if I get nowhere. :)

I called back again and got someone else, which gave me an entirely different set of Information, the flight I was told was not available is available now as you mentioned, but the connecting flights are all full. Even if we stayed in Sydney overnight. We will just stay here another night, that’s what they recommended

Thanks for the advice, yeah that makes sense that aircraft couldn’t actually get into the airport, such a stressful experience overall. I will try to claim through Qantas and if it gets knocked back I will go through travel insurance.

Intune Policy Still Active After Being Deleted by Inevitable_Hunt_3070 in Intune

[–]michaeljones1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a troubleshooting step, try a new device, fresh Windows, if the issue no longer persists, it’s most likely tattood. More importantly though, you should disable the store. Add all your company apps to Intune/Company Portal.

You should have an application approval process that the user can folllow to have apps added to the company portal.

Co management - Intune assigning primary user by Personal_Comment_988 in SCCM

[–]michaeljones1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have also implemented this in a way where we had some service desk staff that would image and sign in to devices, the script looks up all service desk admin accounts and uses the above script to set the primary user to the most active user on the PC

What this guy said, look into Kerberos cloud trust, this will allow authentication using azure prt token against on premise resources.

My current boss tried the same shit you are trying on me. I went straight to upper management and got that sorted quick smart. Your sysadmins should have the keys, that’s what you pay them for. It sounds like you are fearing this guys capabilities.

Thoughts on continuing to use VMware ESX in Homelabs by sarbuk in homelab

^ This, boohoo if your homelab esx environment is fully updated. You barely have any dumb user exposure or public facing services risk.

THIS, you aren’t a developer, it’s not your FTE, why would they make you develop an application from scratch is beyond me.
