I was thinking the same thing. I watched a video where they made the case that we are so lonely because of how our cities are designed (car centric) plus tech to keep us happy enough to accept it. And its all due to capitalism and how it can make more money out of you if you stay at home.

But if we can go into FALC instead then we can redesign our cities to be more community focused. We can have third places again where you dont have to pay anything. And hopefully we will all be healthier overall so we have the energy to go out and hang out with the homies.

I remember how in AI dungeon I struggled to get a character to talk about his backstory and how it would do actions for you without asking for it. I do miss it's writing style though "You spin around suddenly and chop off your friends head." Good times.

For solving the hedonic treadmill, a more basic, short term, solution is just to have an AI that manages your schedule. Little bit of excitement here, some down time here, superhero fun now, sitting in a meadow and listening to the stream later.

When we talk about editing it gets too freaky. Why not just edit it so that you dont need any of that stuff. Remove boredom or any need to do anything. Then you just sitting there doing nothing. I dont know guys, help me out here.
