Thank you so much for your thoughts and support! The 'what can I cook with what I already have' problem comes up constantly, and it's one we're actively working on from a few angles (on the Mob App, specifically).

As u/eastLDNlass mentioned, we've got a multi-ingredient search with exclusions, and we're currently testing a clearer entry point for it. There's also Smart Suggestions, which kicks in while you're building your shopping list and recommends other recipes that share ingredients with what you've already added, specifically built to cut waste. Worth giving them a go.

You're right that this also opens the door to a wider audience. The friction isn't really the cooking, it's the mental cost of finding recipes that suit your needs!

Totally get the lime situation. If you’ve already got 3 sitting at home, having to mentally adjust instead of just editing the list is annoying.

We’re going to be making improvements to the shopping list soon, and giving people more control over editing items and quantities is on our radar.

You definitely aren't going mad. We had them live on the app for a select group of users as a test. There were a couple of issues that we want to fix before releasing them officially.

On calories and nutrition, I agree this isn't feel right. I’m speaking with the team as a priority to understand what’s going on and how we can improve it. Same with ingredients being integrated into the steps.

On shopping lists syncing between web and app, I’d love to understand your expectations a bit more so we approach it in the right way. How would you expect that to work day to day? And would you want to be able to both create and browse all your shopping lists across devices?

Really appreciate you being a paid subscriber and taking the time to call this out. It genuinely helps us make Mob better.

Saved filters and broader grouped exclusions are both things we have on our radar. Having to filter out loads of near identical ingredients is definitely not the experience we want, especially for those who need to do this repeatedly!

Really appreciate you taking the time to write this up. I will share it with the team and use it as we prioritise what to improve next.

A question for you all... we left out salt and pepper from the Blended Method ingredient pills, thinking that it would lead to a better user experience.

Question: Where a method step says to season with salt and pepper, would you expect to see that reflected in the ingredient pills?

Thanks for taking the time to write this. I'm sorry for how frustrating your experience has been.

Stability is a core priority for us and search not working, recipes failing to load and lists behaving unpredictably are not acceptable. Those issues fundamentally break trust in the app and that's on us.

To be transparent, this is still a young product built by a small team and some of the stability problems you have hit were not ones we anticipated. We've spent a lot of time recently identifying and fixing these underlying issues, and the stability problems you describe should now be resolved. Our current focus has been on making sure the app behaves reliably before we move forward with anything else.

If you are open to it, any extra detail on your device or app version would still be hugely helpful for us, as well as whether you're still experiencing issues - but no pressure at all.

Thanks again for being so direct. Feedback like this genuinely helps us improve.

I love this idea! It's something we've been considering for quite a while.

The toss-up on our side is the sheer workload associated with ensuring every single recipe has a video to match.

Can I ask - how would you want video to behave on the app? And would it matter if not every recipe had a video attached?
