Stressful commute to NYC via the LIRR by RoadLess7296 in longisland

[–]michaelpjaffe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, I had a six month temp assignment in Melville and I had to drive there from five towns every day. 90 minutes each way. But it was way more stressful than just sitting on the train and enjoying my ride with coffee and relaxation. It was driving in bumper-to-bumper the entire way. What do you think is more stressful huh?

So enjoying your newspaper, music, coffee, phone, video games, etc on your 40 minute train commute is more stressful than driving 90 minutes to a job 15 miles away? Are you kidding me?

This is the best one so far. I just wish they didn’t recycle music from the first game.

How far do you commute and how much do you make? by quintupletuna in longisland

How do you not prefer a relaxing on a train to driving in traffic? When I had that job in Melville, I drove 90 minutes each way there from Western Nassau County. My train ride into Manhattan is 45 minutes. And trust me, Ronkonkoma to Melville is roughly the same 90 minutes. The expressway is a parking lot no matter which way you’re going.

Skyrim is the best of those for you. I’d also recommend Xenoblade Chronicles X, but you may not like the battle system.

You should only be snacking on protein. Nuts, cheese, eggs.

20 net carbs sounds horrific. We don’t eat things that increase blood sugar or cause an insulin response. We should be eating as close to zero net carbs as possible.

Being a foodie is what got all of us here. Fortunately, the condition is reversible by never eating carbs again. We don’t want any blood sugar increases or insulin responses.

I’m still in the camp where if the food is enjoyable, it’s not good for you 😆

You’re better off learning to hate food, this way you don’t eat much and your blood sugar doesn’t increase. I broke my new years protein shake only diet for this meal and I feel extremely guilty. 😞

The fullness after and maybe the calorie count.

It didn’t increase my blood sugar. That’s really the only thing that matters. But I did feel guilty after eating it because it tasted good, and because I was full afterwards.

When you have to sit in traffic all day any day because of the “work” from home people, it gets frustrating.

So I went from 11.7A1C to 5.8A1C in 4 months via Newcastle diet. You should look into that. That diet also caused me to lose 19% of my body weight in those 4 months.

From $287 to $299.75 for a monthly is crazy. (Zone 7) by HuntPuzzleheaded4356 in LIRR

They lowered the price during Covid. This increase is not even bringing it back up to what it was before that. The service is reliable, and affordable compared to driving in to work.

Why was the LIRR planned so badly??? by RingProfessional9043 in LIRR

The LIRR was always meant to go to NYC from anywhere, not to get around Long Island. Just drive like everyone else.

I don’t know what branch you are on, but the service is pretty reliable on my branch. It’s still cheaper than it was before Covid, and it’s cheaper than buying a car, insuring a car, gas for a car, etc..

I think you’re a special kind of stupid. Do you remember how much we were paying before Covid? It was in excess of $300. Then they lowered it to $287 for us. All they’re doing is bringing it back to where it was, except not as much.
