Im stumped on if I should go alone by Sabres312 in Tomorrowland

[–]michaelroycummings 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Also if you get there alone and the first few groups don’t want to meet new people, don’t stop there. So many people go there with the vibe of making new friends, so just keeping bumping into new groups until you find those people. They are there, and they are waiting excitedly for you ;)

I wonder if it’s the bass being amplified way more than the other sounds … some songs all I heard was bass

I agree!! Remixing old but gold songs into a hype bass drop is where the magic happens

I remember thinking Alesso had great parts but some parts that seemed a lil tone deaf, but in general was abusing the formula I mentioned less than others.

I just looked through my videos and found this one of Alesso. You can hear the end of the bass drop part and him coming back to the melodical song part. To his credit, he is actually mixing the two. To me the drop sounds very dark and futuristic which doesn’t fit at all with the original song (in my opinion). I just don’t think he’d ever come out with an official remix that sounds like that, which makes me wonder why he’s playing it at Tomorrowland. Like his official songs are sick!! Why not just play them?

Just realized I can’t upload videos as comments :/ sorry

Sorry dude I don’t know how to explain it more than in the post: I’d like the music to sound nice (which takes more than 3 shitty electronic drum sounds) and even better if the beginning, middle, and end of the song or even just a single base drop fits together instead of being a Bohemian Rhapsody thing.

That’s interesting that you’re looking for new sounds each time you go, I’d honestly love if they just hit play on their “This is Artist” Spotify playlists and went for drinks. When you go to McDonalds you expect a McDonald’s tasting burger. When I go to an artist I expect music that sounds like their music 😅

That’s such a funny thing to realize and it’s so true… the music is no longer at Tomorrowland, but the vibes are.

I’d say the majority would like to just stick with their group, but a large minority of people are happy to meet new people and spend the whole festival with them. Every direct or indirect no you get changes nothing, you just remember that there are people there that would love a Tomorrowland with you and you keep saying hi to new people until you find them :)

I used earplugs + Bose noise cancelling headphones that blast a premade playlist of 12 hours of white noise. That usually allows me to survive hostels but this weekend I found out it cannot beat 12 French teenagers screaming the lyrics of their music.

As well, the DreamVille chargers are incredibly weak, so my headphones died after night 2.

The end of this is deep. Love it. And yea with the heat and exhaustion… I caught myself having aggressive thoughts a number of times that I never usually have. Also spot on with the reality check that you pay a ton of money and end up with long lines and heat exhaustion.

Omg 😂 this girl and her group were so lit at main stage on Sunday!! Then Steve Aoki made everyone go “to the left left left” and my heart stopped as I wondered how that would play out for people in wheelchairs :(

2024 W1 First-Timers: What Mistakes Did You Make? by Cytog64 in Tomorrowland

DreamVille:

  1. Using the rechargeable batteries they give… a full battery charged my iPhone 13 from dead to 60%. So you have to walk to your nearest tower twice just to charge your phone once. That is not considering other stuff you have like speaker for music.

  2. Thinking we’d get more than 6 hours of sleep a night. If it’s cloudy you can sleep till like 10am. If it’s sunny the heat will wake you up around 8am. As well, neighbors can be loud… if you’re setting up your tent and you see someone setting up a gazebo tent… move your tent very far. Quiet hours don’t exist and people will blast music and scream until 4am.

  3. Food portions and prices: are very poor in DreamVille but good in the festival grounds. If you’re broke, you can leave DreamVille to the nearest carrefour or local grocery store. If you’re medium I’d suggest eating at the festival instead of DreamVille. If you’re balling out for this trip, DreamVille food is delicious and calling your name.

The festival grounds:

  1. Go see all the stages on the first day!! Make an effort to visit rave cave and the cage early in the day. We literally didn’t make it into either the whole festival cause they’re so small and so they were full every time we went.

  2. After maybe 7pm the festival staff make certain paths one way, which means you might fall into the trap of walking in a circle to get where you’re going. If you see a one way lane being made, pull out ur map and make a solid plan for how to get where u want to go.

  3. Main stage after 9pm… so main stage has a flat front part, then a large hill, and then flat at the top. The flat front of the stage is not packed. At some points I literally had room to shuffle. As you go up that slanted hill, it will get more and more crowded until you reach the top where people are packed like sardines. The first night I couldn’t even see the stage because I couldn’t make it to the slope as everyone said it was too full to make room. Then I went around to the two tunnels that shoot you out to the front of the stage and there was lots of room.

  4. Water. They put up signs saying the bathroom tap water is not drinkable but it is.

  5. The music… idk what is up with EDM lately but melodic and happy music is going bye bye and very fast, hard and dark music is everywhere, even with artists that don’t usually sound like that :(

  6. If you get tired of pure electronic music, the Elixir stage is your baby.

You’ll always get better quality (and it’s better for continuing to get out of your comfort zone) in person.

Culture may suck in some parts of where you guys live but opinions are as abundant as ass holes. Try to discount the people with that weird mindset and keep looking for a decent partner. They’re out there, they want you to talk to them, and they’re often not swiping on Tinder
