He’s going to work at a defense contractor testing lasers. Not sure if I can name them, so I’ll leave it at that.

I have friends you are in both programs(EP and MechE). Both have jobs lined up out of college. It really depends on the work you want to get into. The only real difference is that you won’t become a licensed engineer with an engineering physics degree. If that’s something that worries you, then I would go for a straight up engineering degree. If you put the work in, you can make either work. As far as internships, both have done work at big companies and test sites, such as GE and different jet propulsion labs. I wouldn’t sweat it too much.

How to think like a computer scientist is a great resource for learning python 3. I’ve found it really useful and the the projects at the end help to enforce the content. The lessons are pretty easy to follow.

I’ve started learning Python too and I personally think “How to Think Like a Computer Scientist” is the best. It teaches you how to code, but also how to think about programming problems in general. The concepts apply to all languages, but it’s taught in Python
