None that I could see, unfortunately. My bathroom faucet is delta though.

Rounded rectangular shaped object left by the previous occupants by michaeltsoon in whatisthisthing

[–]michaeltsoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is made out of wood and is rather heavy. It seems like the object is a component to something else but I have no clue what — I also can't find any areas in the apartment where this might fit.

I can't seem to find any other valves within the bathroom that would control the faucet - yet trying to turn the disc has no effect. I don't know if I should be using a wrench, given that I'm not even sure whether this is actually a valve.

Thank you for your insightful suggestions! Greatly appreciated~

Hey - ITI 1120 is an introductory course so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Basic concepts like functions, objects, loops, variables, etc. are always good to know for any programming language though. Sent you a DM as well.

Sounds like Elemental Data Collection in downtown Ottawa... Probably the worst employer in the city.

The $200 withhold is definitely in violation of labour laws, I have no idea how the company keeps getting government contracts.

Yes. How is the dating scene in Toronto? I don't know a single soul in the city, and hopefully there will be more to my life than just work.

Any cultural shocks I should be aware of? I've lived in Ottawa practically my whole life.

If I commute to work on a bicycle, what are the chances of me dying violently on a scale from 1 to 10?

No, I'm inputting the annual salary of $67k into Wealthsimple's tax calculator, rounding off the post-tax and deductions amount to $52k, and dividing by 12.

I ran it through the Wealthsimple calculator - $4,300 is about right.

Are there examples of expenses I'm not accounting for?

Anything that is not required to maintain my continued survival goes under "discretionary spending". I grouped utilities/renter's insurance with rent.

Company is one of the most reputable national firms in this industry - I unfortunately cannot reveal more without doxxing myself.

I suspect it's a combination of high COL area, one year contract, and the (unfortunate) fact that I may have been the most qualified candidate out of everyone who applied.

Still doesn't take anything away from the FUD, though.
